A single (high utilisation) worker thread. Plus two or three low-utilisation threads, for timing, message-passing, and other control functions. |

By default as many cores as you have, with each task using one core. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

Yes. My reply was 'threads per core'. |

How many cores (threads) does the current version of seti at home support? When I had a ThreadRipper 2990x (32c/64t) it would execute on all 64 threads. There are even higher count cpu machines on the LeaderBoard. I suspect it just keeps scaling up. The 2990x has issues that have nothing to do with Boinc/Seti that kept it from processing "at speed" with that many cpu threads active. You need to be aware that the cpu limits are 100 tasks in the cache no matter how many cpu cores/threads you have. Tom A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association). |
