I have been going around and around with this for a couple of days.

If I install nearly the latest Nvidia drivers so that Open CL (and therefor SOG) can run, it disables my AMD driver completely (BOINC reports it missing even though the device driver shows it). But Nvidia Open CL is happy.

If I re-install my AMD drivers, it disables the Open CL for Nvidia so BOINC cheerfully downloads some CUDA42 tasks.
This is the computer: https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=8671627
I know I am going around in circles here.
Here is the latest BOINC start log.

The AMD driver is now back to version 15 or so but I haven't yet tried a much older Nvidia driver.

I don't know if I want to laugh or cry.
I tried to install something like a 3.9xx driver and it get me an error message about it can't work with "your version of windows".
Rebooted, same error message.

So I un-installed the GTX 750Ti's using the device manager. I deleted the drivers. Then I re-booted.

It found some kind of driver that is Open CL for the GTX 750Ti's because "everybody" is happy.

I have 3 gpus crunching two munching though my SOG cache/eventually they will get to the CUDA42's again. And the iGPU of the Amd Ryzen 5 2400G is running.

Quite frankly I don't have a clue "why".

If you are running Windows, then it is mandatory to use the Wagnard DDU utility to remove all traces of competing video drivers. If you don't you get multiple cards detected for each driver and incompatible OpenCL components.

If you are running Windows, then it is mandatory to use the Wagnard DDU utility to remove all traces of competing video drivers. If you don't you get multiple cards detected for each driver and incompatible OpenCL components.

Is that the one from Guru3d?

Apparently, I didn't manage to get everything deleted.

Excellent! I am running just the AMD video now but still having the "unknown application" error from Boinc. Since I am almost certain this is that Open CL issue again. Will try this sledge hammer and then a re-install.

Its got to be something simple because I usually get accused of "overthinking" the problem :)

Is this a new system you just created? You usually get that message until the server sends that work unit to your computer then it goes away.

Yes, sorta. I have just swapped out the MB which broke my Windows 10 product code (had to re-activate it). So I suppose it could be "new".
I have been juggling with this machine so it very well could "feel" like it is new.
The userid was created 14 Feb 2019. And I haven't re-installed the OS at all. I don't remember if I "reset" the project. Probably haven't.

Sigh.

The error message means you don't have the AP application in the project directory. And you wouldn't if a new machine since there has been no reason for the schedulers to send you the AP application since there hasn't been any AP work to send out. If you don't actually have the AP application in the directory, then ignore the message. If you do have the application is of more concern.

Ok, it is entirely possible that I don't have an AP in the directory. I am at another machine now that I have moved the box in question back into my "server room" aka: Home Office.

Confirmed, no AP app in there.
