In Wuhan, where the pandemic started, the police have threatened and interrogated grieving relatives. Lawyers have been warned not to help them sue.

It is the Chinese people that are "unlucky" to be governed by the Criminal and Silencing Government of China.

Funny, sounds just like the USA!

As the U.S. keeps on keeping on, the U.K. has not only joined the 200,000 club they're also the 2nd country to officially clock up 30,000 deaths. Russia again put in a >10,000 day, but Brazil (not to be outdone) put in >11,000 day, while Iran joined the 100,000 club.

Sadly though some reason some European countries lately have had a sudden jump in their numbers (whether they're just adjustments or actual jumps has yet to be revealed).

.....well that's about as obvious as a pig on an motorcycle........

Early January, exactly zero days after China knew there was a virus, they knew how severe it was. Brought to you by the same people who brought you Iraq's WMD's.

Wouldn't they have told their good Commie buddies, Putin, Kim, Castro and Trọng? Instead they told the WHO and the USA.

Or, is it just a cover to hide that King Donald Ignored his own briefings in January when he could have stopped it in its tracks and stock up, but for him it is profit, profit, profit.

Yep, pig on a motorcycle, just check who the motorcycle is registered to and don't let the pig distract you.

As with the Government of China silencing their researchers. Which never happened in the USA and will not happen in the USA.

Never say Never.
A set of detailed documents created by the nation’s top disease investigators meant to give step-by-step advice to local leaders deciding when and how to reopen public places such as mass transit, day care centers and restaurants during the still-raging pandemic has been shelved by the Trump administration.

It was supposed to be published last Friday, but agency scientists were told the guidance “would never see the light of day,” according to a CDC official.

Love this comment. Makes me want to update my thoughts. :-)
What a shambles !
Are you telling us that all the gowns being produced by UK sewing groups out of old duvets and sheets are to British Standards and these are not.
Will we learn any lessons from this ? Bureaucrats could not organize a P-up in a brewery.

Canada for many years had a law that in order for a brewery to sell beer in each province they had to brew it in that province.

Seems to me that China, Turkey and other 'Global' manufacturing centers have taught the world a very good lesson...........

.....namely if you want to insure the quality of products needed locally they should be made locally........

Goodbye to 'The New World Order' and hello to 'Keep It At Home'.....which includes goods, jobs, wages and tax revenue.

Hopefully, the 'The New World Order', which does sound suspiciously like something Adolf and Ioseb Besarionis dze Jughashvili wished for, is coming to an end.
Its replacement will be able to handle pandemics much better & without such high fatalities?

Sadly one thing it won't prevent is asinine bovine excrement, that will continue regardless of who is in control. :-(

As the U.S. continues to show the rest of the world how badly it is handling this pandemic Russia has leap frogged both Germany and France into 5th spot and while the U.K. has its sights set on Italy's 3rd place Russia just might leap frog both of them at the same time as well. :-O

Peru and India now have their sights set on Canada's 12th spot while Saudi Arabia has quietly made its way into 17th place. Sweden has been pushed down to 23rd place by Pakistan, but it'll soon be forced down another spot by Chile.

But what has happened to Japan? Has anyone heard from them? I ask as they havn't put up any figures for several days now. Are they still alive over there?

Latest Update

Deaths per 1 million population:

Belgium: 736.7
Spain: 558.0
Italy: 495.7
United Kingdom: 460.5
France: 387.9
Netherlands: 306.9
Sweden: 298.5
Ireland: 289.1
United States: 234.4
Germany : 89.0

Data Sources: WHO, CDC, ECDC, NHC, DXY, JHU, RCP

For heavens sake. Don't you know by now that Deaths per 1 million cannot be compared by countries? Heck. Every country have their own way to report deaths of COVID-19. Most countries chose to report only deaths in a hospital. Some only in an ICU. Not including those who dies at care centers or at home!
Sweden and Belgium and several other countries do report as good as we can all COVID-19 deaths.

Please explain again how a country that makes up just 4.25% of the world's population makes up 33% of the total reported cases?

I must of missed it the first time.

Actually easy to answer to that. Test more and you get obviously more reported cases. The US has tested the most in the world, about 8 million. Russia second with 4.8 million. Germany third with 2.8 million.
https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/In Stockholm already about one quarter of the population has already been infected by the Corona virus according to estimates. That's with testing only people with symptoms...

But when you consider those 8 million tests against a population of 331 million what do you get?

A very low testing rate when compared to many other countries. ;-)

IMHO non of these numbers are accurate and comparing them leads to false beliefs. As in the case of the Veep, who thinks cases have peaked in the US, when all indications, if you take out New York City and the close surrounding area, and possibly Washington State, the cases are still rising in the rest of the US.

And half of the US tests were done in only nine states, with NYC accounting for over a million of them.

But that's not true either.
The jersey leader in the Tour de Corona testing rate competition is still the Faeroe Islands.
https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/
The US is behind in some 30'ish place or something just behind Canada and before Greenland competing with 212 countries and territories around the world and 2 international conveyances..
Belgium has a big a lead to the US but as for Sweden we are far behind.

Coronavirus: Meat shortage leaves US farmers with 'mind-blowing' choice
The United States faces a major meat shortage due to virus infections at processing plants. It means millions of pigs could be put down without ever making it to table. This is what the predicament looks like on a Minnesota farm.
