Check out Tulsa in 2 weeks.

The problem is it isn't just Tulsa. They are coming from all 50. Now if the other 49 had stiff backs the attendees would be stopped at the border and told to return to Tulsa and bring 3 weeks of daily negative test results to enter.

But sadly the rates of daily new cases are definately rising and the reopening of some countries/states far too early as well as the protests that have been going on are likely fueling this trend. :-(

The world recorded a massive 181,000+ new cases over the last 24hrs and over 5,000 deaths. :-O

The U.S. put a in over 33,500 of those taking it to almost 2.3 million cases and past 121,000 deaths, but they couldn't come close to Brazil's numbers coming in at over 55,200 new cases (I wonder if this is a correction making up for earlier lower than expected reported numbers) taking them past 1 million and past 49,000 deaths.

India also recorded their highest daily number of new cases with over 14,700 and will soon be the 4th country to pass 400,000 while Iran became the 10th country to pass 200,000 cases.

But sadly the rates of daily new cases are definately rising and the reopening of some countries/states far too early as well as the protests that have been going on are likely fueling this trend. :-(

There are three kinds of science, Science, damn Science, and Statistics. Seems like many politicians are going for Statistics, especially in these Corona days:)

Only because in its simplest form Statistics don't require calculus..

Yes. https://medicalxpress.com/news/2020-06-virus-italy-december.html
But even in February no one knew how the virus was spreading and in what pace it did.
Unfortunately many Swedes where in Italy that month bringing the virus here and the result is many deaths.
Who's to blame?
In Lombardy, Italy where there was a lot of corona cases, there is a large community of Chinese people travelling back an forth to China.

Coronavirus was already in Italy by December, waste water study finds
Italian scientists say sewage water from two cities contained coronavirus traces in December, long before the country's first confirmed cases.
The National Institute of Health (ISS) said water from Milan and Turin showed genetic virus traces on 18 December.
It adds to evidence from other countries that the virus may have been circulating much earlier than thought.
Chinese officials confirmed the first cases at the end of December. Italy's first case was in mid-February.
In May French scientists said tests on samples showed a patient treated for suspected pneumonia near Paris on 27 December actually had the coronavirus.
Meanwhile in Spain a study found virus traces in waste water collected in mid-January in Barcelona, some 40 days before the first local case was discovered.

China has some explaining to do.

IMHO, all those that refuse to believe in science should be sent off to a remote island, without anything discovered or invented after 1700 and we can see how long they last. The nightly TV show filmed only by drones should make for interesting viewing.
Which leads nicely into a satire on economics, written over a hundred years ago.

Suppose a party of people were wrecked on a desert island, what do you think would be the first thing they'd do? Obviously they would look around for a man with money to employ them in gathering fruit. If there were no capitalist among them, or if he didn't see his way to make a profit out of the business, they would all remain unemployed and starve to death, no matter how fertile the island might be.

Virus tracing app abandoned.
The main story for the Mail is the government's abandonment of its coronavirus tracing app. "How Many More Corona Fiascos?" asks the front page headline. It cites a string of U-turns over testing, protective equipment, schools and quarantine.

It's also the lead for the Times, which says the failure of the technology leaves the government's virus tracing strategy in "disarray" and hampers efforts to lift social distancing restrictions. Its leading article says Boris Johnson "needs to reassure the country that he really does have a plan to get out of this mess".

The project has become a "national embarrassment", says the Telegraph, which calls Health Secretary Matt Hancock "hapless and app-less".

The Guardian points out that three months and millions of pounds were spent on "technology that experts had repeatedly warned would not work".

"Another day, another U-turn", says Huffpost UK.

The cover of the Economist has an illustration of a tattered Union Flag shot through with virus-shaped holes. "Not Britain's finest hour", it declares about the country's response to the pandemic, arguing that the UK has the "wrong government for the covid crisis". "It has played a bad hand badly," is the magazine's verdict.

The Telegraph got it right. :-)

One country's "reformed prisoners" are less "reformed" than the others?
It looks possible. :-D

But there's got to be more to it than just that.

Let us take 2 countries that are both 1st world countries and both are a federation of states, now lets take 1 of the better states of 1.

Let's say West Virginia for example, population around 1,792,000 with 2,418 reported cases and 88 deaths.

Now for the current problem state here.

Victoria, population around 6.359 million with 1741 reported cases and just 19 deaths.

Now for my state, that suffered the Ruby Princess debacle (which has worse numbers than the Diamond Princess that is listed) and has our worst numbers here.

New South Wales, population around 7.544 million with 3134 reported cases and 48 deaths.

Now 1 country quietly goes along looking after its population while the other is relentlessly in the news for mostly all the wrong reasons and mainly for its disregard to life, why is there such a difference between the 2 countries when both have British Empire penal colony pasts?

Yes. Here is a view of how the the corona is spread in Sweden.
Very big differences between regions.

And it's the same pattern in all countries, including the US.

All this comparing between countries is ridiculous. Try comparing regions instead and it all become VERY different.
For an example compare Copenhagen with a lockdown and Malmö with a "laxed" lockdown, two cities only separated with a bridge. Many more people die in Copenhagen then in Malmö. Why is that? In the US many more people die in New York and New Jersey then other states in the US. Why is that? In Stockholm there are many more people dying than in the county Västerbotten. Why is that?
All examples is of course death rates counted per capita.
