McConnell Says He Was ‘Wrong’ to Claim That Obama Administration Left No Pandemic Plan The said plan be seen in this video at 1:06, https://www.c-span.org/video/?472141-1/president-trump-calls-dr-rick-bright-angry-disgruntled-employee This plan was found to insufficient and a lot tougher plan was published after Trump Administration Failed Dry Run 'Crimson Contagion' Pandemic Exercise Or so they say, as IMHO if they followed their own plan, then that failed as well. |

I see that https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/#countries has put in position numbers and total populations of countries now which makes for better comparisons to be made. Russia put in another 10K+ day putting them on track to take 2nd place from Spain within 48hrs, while Brazil threw in a 15K+ day will take Italy's current 5th place from them tomorrow (based on low testing numbers Brazil could eventually knock Russia out of that 2nd place). India, Mexico, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, the Philippines, Egypt, Nigeria and several other African nations I'd also class as very dark horses that could shock the rest of the world. |

Trump says US reopening, 'vaccine or no vaccine' https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-52685487 Should we be worried? |

Trump says US reopening, 'vaccine or no vaccine' Only if a vaccine is going to be the only way to control this pandemic. The first step is to test, trace and isolate as we already have a test(s). The second step will probably be to find drugs to control and minimise the effects. That's all we have for H.I.V. after 40 years there is no vaccine yet. Historically less than 10% (another source says 6%) of the attempts to make vaccines make it through the trials. After that the production is not fast, after about 6 months you might have enough doses for the front line workers and then probably another year before any of the general public gets vaccinated. So far the fastest time for any vaccine to be developed, trialed, manufactured and approved is four years. |

Can't stop laughing. :-) Virus driving a revolution in travel Amazing that. A few years ago, to be aesthetically pleasing they removed all the bike stands in the town centre here. No worries, your local BP's know best. |

How do you celebrate a national holiday when large crowds of people are to be avoided? Norway's Prime Minister Erna Solberg, together with several ministers, has found the solution in dance. Det är kjempefint och morsomt;) https://www.svt.se/nyheter/utrikes/ministrarna-firar-nationaldag-med-dansvideo |

As the world passes 4.7 million reported cases and 310K deaths the U.S. passed 1.5 million cases and 90K deaths. :-O Now if you really want to see a country that has controlled this situation well then take a look at Vietnam (and yes, their figures have been verified by many disbelieving countries), they closed their borders a 2 whole weeks before we here in Australia did. |

I wonder how or if these severe weather systems around the world are going to affect the spread of covid 19. Mother nature is being nasty this year. If this was 500 years ago the clergy would be having a field day. Bob DeWoody My motto: Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow as it may not be required. The planet seems to have determined that it needs to reduce the human population. |

I have said for years that mankind needs to curb the human population growth and if we don't do it mother nature will. Bob DeWoody My motto: Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow as it may not be required. This no longer applies in light of current events. |

I wonder how or if these severe weather systems around the world are going to affect the spread of covid 19. Mother nature is being nasty this year. And if you consider that the increasing number of severe weather systems is partly driven by anthropogenic climate warming, then the human race has been giving mother nature a helping hand. |

I also think that global warming is an indirect product of over population especially as more of the world's population has expectations of living at the same level of comfort as the already developed nations do. I'd bet that China's carbon footprint is at least triple what it was even just 50 years ago. And as Africa, South America and India raise their standard of living and populations the strain on the planet will eventually reach the breaking point. Maybe that's what we are experiencing now. The Corona virus is affecting countries in very different ways. Very weird... The number of confirmed corona infections in Qatar has exceeded 30,000, according to the latest figures. This means that just over 1 percent of the 2.75 million inhabitants have tested positive for covid-19 in the small Gulf state. Only the micro-states of San Marino and the Vatican City have a higher number of infected per capita, according to the European ECDC. However, despite Qatar's high infection rates, only 15 coronary-related deaths have been recorded. |

Many think Sweden is reckless in this pandemic crisis. So here is a good explanation why we are not. https://youtu.be/ypwoyVl5Dxk |

4 of the top 5 countries are run by leaders who downplayed this pandemic at 1st and took action far too late. India is the 11th country now to report over 100K cases, but like Brazil this is expected to explode. Saudi Arabia has moved into 15th spot, Chile into 18th, while Belarus pushed Sweden down to 25th spot and South Africa knocked Japan back to 37th place. Meanwhile Algeria, Bahrain and Afghanistan have knocked Australia (not Austria) down to 54th spot and it won't be much longer and we'll be in the same position our position in the world by population (55th place, then I'll be happy with our response so far. Not ecstatic, but happy). |
