"Please check reality before parroting the 'Trumped Fox Fake News'?..."

But, of course, two other sources, including ABC News, said the same as FOX. Which I knew.

Another confirmation that many will not engage Critical Thinking regarding all news sources.

As with the similar anti FOX belief that many have about CNN. I do check the "other side's" news sources to confirm.

If one wishes to review my past posts using news sources. You will find I reference CNN, Bloomberg, the NY Times, FOX, the Wall Street Journal and others.

Edited to add: BTW, my first read of the day is the online New York Times.

I had the NY Times delivered every day for over 40 years. But now it's online.

Was it that market?
State Department cables warned of safety issues at Wuhan lab studying bat coronaviruses
Two years before the novel coronavirus pandemic upended the world, U.S. Embassy officials visited a Chinese research facility in the city of Wuhan several times and sent two official warnings back to Washington about inadequate safety at the lab, which was conducting risky studies on coronaviruses from bats. The cables have fueled discussions inside the U.S. government about whether this or another Wuhan lab was the source of the virus — even though conclusive proof has yet to emerge.
...
As my colleague David Ignatius noted, the Chinese government’s original story — that the virus emerged from a seafood market in Wuhan — is shaky. Research by Chinese experts published in the Lancet in January showed the first known patient, identified on Dec. 1, had no connection to the market, nor did more than one-third of the cases in the first large cluster. Also, the market didn’t sell bats.

Their continuing Pro Chinese Government support and not caring about the lives of the Chinese and other people's is disgusting.
Why would any moral and ethical person support them?
Wait a minute. Is it the WHO that doesn't care about the lives of the Chinese and other people, or is it the Chinese Government, factually CCP (Communist Chines Party)? Calling the the WHO Pro Chinese Government is ridiculous. But I can agree WHO are a bit naive.

Trump stops payments to World Health Organization.
That man's instincts are truly beyond the pale.

Australia’s prime minister is blasting the World Health Organization Tuesday over its stance on wet markets, calling it “unfathomable” that the U.N. agency supports them reopening in China.

Scott Morrison made the comment just days after a bipartisan group of congressional lawmakers urged WHO to shut down all wet markets globally. The markets recently began opening their doors again in Chinese cities like Wuhan, which have lifted their coronavirus lockdowns.

“I think that’s unfathomable, frankly. We need to protect the world against potential sources of outbreaks of these types of viruses,” Morrison told the Nine Network television station. “It’s happened too many times. I’m totally puzzled by this decision.”

Yep, WHO really doesn't care to save people's lives in their support of the Chinese Government.

Russia is currently in 15th spot, but has been rising fast. ;-)

At least their lockdown was strong enough to indeed stop the local spread. In France, the government has just reopened garden centres as "essential business". Even if it's limited to edible plants, this is ridiculous.

Sewage analysis suggests a New England metro area with fewer than 500 COVID-19 cases 'reported' may 'already have many more cases'

While the estimate had a very wide range, it was the discovery that there were likely many more infected people than revealed by numbers based on COVID-19 clinical testing alone that set off alarms...

... "We still have additional follow up experiments to perform before we can say exactly how many undiagnosed cases there might be, but we believe it could be significantly higher than the number of confirmed cases."...

... About 25% of [people] may be asymptomatic carriers, meaning they're infected but likely will never get tested because they don't have symptoms, according to Dr. Robert Redfield, director of the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention...

... although the technology requires further innovation to increase precision, currently it can paint a broad picture "qualitatively, on the presence or absence of a virus in a given community -- and that alone would be so much more than what we have in large stretches of the country, where the tests are not yet available."...

Macron wants to end confinement on May 11, send kids back to school and parents back to work. Perfect setting for covid wave 2: the kids will spread it among themselves without showing symptoms and bring it back home. And only symptomatic people will get tested, though at least they'll get tested even if they have only mild symptoms.

Way to sacrifice the population on the altar of capitalism.

As with what has been described as a “Market-Leninism" economy and government. China's similar decision:

As China's Wuhan Ends Its Long Quarantine, Residents Feel A Mix Of Joy And Fear

Tens of thousands of people streamed out of Wuhan by car, train and plane after a 76-day lockdown was lifted Wednesday from the Chinese city where the global coronavirus pandemic began.

The end of the lockdown is a milestone in China's efforts to contain the outbreak of a new coronavirus that sickened more than 80,000 across the country and overwhelmed health systems. Yet another milestone came this week, as the country reported on Tuesday there were no new infection cases for the first time since the outbreak began in late December.

The exodus is also prompting fears of a second wave of infections, amid rising suspicions of undercounting of coronavirus-related deaths and concerns over the prevalence of those carrying the virus but showing no symptoms.
