So you're saying that "radio silence" MUST be maintained even after the enemy has located your position. :-)Until it is known, it can be safely assumed that Capt Crozier e-mailed those of equal and/or higher rank regarding the situation on his ship. |

....apparently the Captain didn't send a letter through open channels..............Aside from the Pentagon, what open channels are they? As it had already been reported that there were coronavirus cases aboard the ship, and as can be seen from the cruise ship cases, you shouldn't go to sea when you haven't eradicated the risk of further infections. Therefore the TR was already unoperational. Breaking news, Sailor from USS Theodore Roosevelt dies of coronavirus complications |

Until it is known, it can be safely assumed that Capt Crozier e-mailed those of equal and/or higher rank regarding the situation on his ship. Someone likely very high ranking inside the Pentagon didn't like the ex secretary of the navy's first answer to the e-mail. His 1/4 million dollar temper tantrum unclassified talk to the sailors shows the real guilty party. |

21 million Chinese died of coronavirus US intelligence officials intercept data My thoughts exactly. :-D US propaganda is becoming more and more hysterical, they must be pretty desperate to turn eyes away from their terrible handling of the epidemic. 21 million Chinese died of coronavirus – US intelligence officials intercept data Just to be clear, I'm guessing that '55 million' is some silly half-bit silly fake news attempted joke... The real news headline is: School is closed for 55 million American children Let's keep off the joke of Fake News please. There is enough silliness without adding yet more! Stay safe! So the fact that Trump & other officials have not only handled this crisis badly but also lied is fake news & dangling on a string? With Trump's statements regarding the coronavirus, if one is aware of history, can only think of this: The use of a lie so "colossal" that no one would believe that someone "could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously". Surely the leader of the free world would not stoop so low? Is that statement to be taken as "fake news" |

One of the people I worked with in China is currently "stuck" in mainland Europe. He flew into Europe in January for a three month job, carrying his four phones with him, and picking up another couple of "local" phones shortly after his arrival. About a month ago he ended up in hospital with an acute UTI, which has lead to one of his kidneys stopping and the other just about hanging in there, so he's now on dialysis thousands of miles from home, and unable to get home due to his current medical condition and the massive flight restrictions in place. Two of his phone contracts have been blocked as he was doing so many International calls, so he's turned one off and is relying on the other one until that gets blocked, whereupon he will use the other one until that too gets blocked. Having worked in China I can say that it is not uncommon for professional people to have half a dozen phones, some for work, some for family some for friends and some for, well who knows. I would assume that a fair number of folk have turned off a few of their phones - who needs a work phone when work is closed (or more likely work has suspended the contracts until it comes back to life). He did mention that he had good reason to believe that, based on his knowledge of the country and what he's been told by family and friends, that the figures coming out from China do not represent the true picture, and that a high degree of under statement has and is taking place. However, China being China... |

... fake news & dangling on a string? And that is part of the poison of Fake News: Mix in a little truth and a little of what people expect to hear and then laugh at (or cry for) how far the fake and lies lead people astray... We've just wasted a good few posts to debunk the 21 million and 55 million false claims... Scarily, we've had to clearly debunk them because those lies are too plausible for some and might be falsely believed! Dear All, Please keep off the Fake News, even if used in jest. Harm is done by Fake News... All the more so in the present atmosphere of poisoned politics. Stay safe! Macron wants to end confinement on May 11, send kids back to school and parents back to work. Perfect setting for covid wave 2: the kids will spread it among themselves without showing symptoms and bring it back home. And only symptomatic people will get tested, though at least they'll get tested even if they have only mild symptoms. Way to sacrifice the population on the altar of capitalism. Further early research that is underway: Sewage analysis suggests a New England metro area with fewer than 500 COVID-19 cases 'reported' may 'already have many more cases' wrote: ... Based on wastewater [samples], Biobot gave an estimate of anywhere from 2,300 to over 115,000 infected persons within the area sampled, though only 446 cases in the area had been reported. While the estimate had a very wide range, it was the discovery that there were likely many more infected people than revealed by numbers based on COVID-19 clinical testing alone that set off alarms... At least their lockdown was strong enough to indeed stop the local spread. In France, the government has just reopened garden centres as "essential business". Even if it's limited to edible plants, this is ridiculous. Gazing at the skies, hoping for contact... Unlikely, but it would be such a fantastic opportunity to learn. My alternative profile |
