"Unit level readiness data for key military forces is information that is classified as a risk to operational security and could jeopardize operations and/or deterrence,” Hoffman said in the statement. “If a commander believes that [the coronavirus] could affect the readiness of our strategic deterrent or strategic response forces, we understandably protect that information from public release and falling into the hands of our adversaries — as we expect they would do the same.”

21 million Chinese died of coronavirus – US intelligence officials intercept data
https://web.archive.org/web/20200406190917/https://n5ti.com/health/1233/
New data intercepted by the United States reveals that 21 million people died in China from December 2019 to March 2020, US intelligence officials conclude in a classified report for the Trump administration.

The Intelligence report stated that at least 20.9 million of the deaths were linked to coronavirus.

According to the US, the intercepted data that shows that China underreported its coronavirus infections and deaths was validated for a second time when it tallied with a data released by Beijing authorities. Beijing announced on March 19 that over 21 million cell phone accounts in China were canceled in the past three months while 840,000 landlines were closed.

China had reported little over 81,000 infections with 3,300 deaths.

Checking with Snopes (apparently every discreditor's go to de-bunker), there is no corroboration or denial....just nothing at all on the subject of Chinese Cell Phone accounts.

Please accept this post as intended, a questioning of the actual number of deaths and rate of infection for COVID-19.

France to isolate 1,900 sailors after virus-hit naval ship docks
https://www.thelocal.fr/20200412/france-to-isolate-1900-sailors-after-virus-hit-naval-ship-docks?fbclid=IwAR0WAlR4uaS29C1a8GgJBT6XqGsvieuE0ECWPdLNoQKsX-od4sCZhzvNFI8
The flagship of the French navy docked in the southern port of Toulon, after cutting short its current mission in the Mediterranean and the Atlantic by 10 days because of the outbreak.

Local authorities said a painstaking operation was now underway by land and sea to evacuate 1,900 sailors to ensure there was no risk of any further infection.

Three sailors had already been evacuated to hospital Toulon as a "precaution" before the ship docked.
All the personnel will be tested and they will then be put into isolation for two weeks, with no physical contact allowed with their families, said the spokeswoman for the regional authorities, Christine Ribbe.

"Our aim is to protect all our sailors and also their families with an unprecedented deployment," she added. Only once the isolation period is over will the sailors be allowed home.

From Tuesday, the ship itself will also be the subject of a major disinfection operation.

I wonder what the available for duty percentage is aboard Russian and Chinese warships? And more importantly in this upside down world what this does to the 'balance of power'.

If ever there was an environment conducive to some tinpot despot believing they could conquer a weakened world it would be now.........

Kremlin says Moscow hospitals flooded as coronavirus death toll passes 100

MOSCOW, April 11 (Reuters) - The Kremlin said on Saturday a "huge influx" of coronavirus patients was beginning to put a strain on hospitals in Moscow as Russia's death toll rose to more than 100.

Moscow and many other regions have been in lockdown for nearly two weeks to stem the contagion, but hospitals in the capital are still being pushed to their limit, officials said.

On Saturday a Reuters witness saw a tailback of dozens of ambulances queuing outside a hospital handling coronavirus cases in the region immediately outside Moscow, waiting to drop off patients.

One ambulance driver said he had been waiting 15 hours outside the hospital to drop off a patient suspected of having the virus.

"The situation in both Moscow and St. Petersburg, but mostly in Moscow, is quite tense because the number of sick people is growing," Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in an interview on state television, Russian news agencies reported.
Peskov added that it would become clearer only in the next few weeks whether the country was nearing the worst point in its outbreak.

Sergei Sobyanin, the mayor of Moscow, said on Friday that the city was far from reaching the peak of the outbreak, saying it was merely in its "foothills".
In the early stages epidemic, Russia recorded fewer cases of the new coronavirus than many Western European countries, but its tally began to rise sharply this month.

Until late March officials were saying the situation was under control and that there was no epidemic in the country.

Unfortunately, it appears it is now Russia's "turn".

As with all around the world. We can only hope and pray for those infected.

BTW: Our very good friend, 81 years old Jimmy, who was taken to the Hospital a couple of days ago. Tested positive for COVID-19.

He is still not on a ventilator and a Nurse on his floor, during a telephone call from us, described his condition as "stable".

Profiteering getting worse. A bottle of 70% rubbing alcohol is going for $20 plus shipping on ebay. A doordash driver this morning drove off with my weekly grocery order of $75. Doordash was hired by the grocery market to make deliveries. I will get a refund from the store but I will either have to resubmit my order or go to the store in person. When I contacted doordash they said they were sorry for the inconvenience and then terminated the link.

False Negatives Raise Doctors' Doubts About Coronavirus Tests

(Bloomberg) -- False-negative results from coronavirus tests are becoming an increasing concern, say doctors trying to diagnose patients and get a grip on the outbreak, as a surprising number of people show up with obvious symptoms only to be told by the tests that they don’t have the disease.

While still more research is necessary to determine the true prevalence of such false-negative results, experts agree that the problem is significant. False negatives not only impede the diagnosis of disease in individual patients and an accurate understanding of the extent of its proliferation, but also risk patients who think they aren't ill further spreading the virus.

Some doctors described situations in which patients show up with clear symptoms such as a cough and fever, test negative, and then test positive later on. It’s a particular issue in New York, where the disease has likely infected far more than the 174,000 people confirmed through limited testing. At Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx, doctor Jeremy Sperling says so-called false-negative tests are now a frequent occurrence in the emergency room.

“If a patient presents with classic Covid symptoms, but tests negative, they’ve still got Covid,” said Sperling, who is the chair of emergency medicine at the hospital. “There is just nothing else it could be in New York City in 2020.”

From BBC live report 09:54.
You might remember the story about a US Navy captain who was fired for publicly raising the alarm about a coronavirus outbreak on his ship.
Another 103 infections on the aircraft carrier were announced by navy officials on Saturday. That brings the total number of cases among the crew of the USS Theodore Roosevelt to 550 - or 10% of those on board.
3,696 workers have been moved offshore to Guam, where the ship is docked.
The row over the sacking of Captain Brett Crozier resulted in the acting US Navy secretary resigning last week.

A VERY NEEDED WARNING!

After initial coronavirus success, Singapore gets put on lockdown

The city-state with a population of roughly 6 million people recorded its first case on Jan. 23 when a 66-year-old man who had traveled into the city from Wuhan tested positive.

The number of confirmed cases spiked quickly after, and the country became one of the world's first major hotspots until mid-February, when the number of recovered patients in the city-state was outpacing new ones.

News outlets all over the world pointed to Singapore as one of the few places in the world able to quickly and effectively stop the spread of the virus.

These efforts did help to contain the virus in Singapore for about two months, but that changed in early March after 47 cases were tracked to a Feb.15 dinner gathering. In mid-March, the country confirmed about 400 cases and no deaths. As of Saturday, the country confirmed 2,299 cases and eight deaths.

The increasing numbers highlight how COVID-19 can spread even after initial success in containing the virus if people do not practice proper safety precautions as countries consider what the future will look like when residents emerge from local shutdowns and return to work.

One small bit of good news.
We recognize that due to various stay‑at‑home directives, customers are driving less. In light of this, during the month of April we are reducing auto insurance premiums by 25% on Farmers branded and 21st Century branded policies. No action is needed from you, as the reduction will be applied automatically as a credit on your next billing statement. If you recently paid your account in full, we will issue you a refund for the amount of the reduction. As the situation progresses, we will determine if further action is required.

One country on the list (no longer allowed to be named) is very conspicuous by the absence of new cases or fatalities. And another not on the list bordering the country no longer named, claims no cases at all.
Those details were missed at that time because the previous day's figures had gone through and they were awaiting the new day's figures to start again, but you can check the site now, https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/#countries, and those figures are there (they're current +46 and +3 on them ATM and those same figures disappear from the U.S.'s and other countries at times as well). ;-)

To mine list I can add at least two more countries (not allowed to be named when discussing corona virus) with reporting systems that are... conspicuous ... Countries that are much closer to Sweden then the other two countries (no longer allowed to be named).

South Korea is now down to 18th spot while Australia has dropped down to 26th with both expected to slide further down.

Comparing countries like that doesn't work.
Better to check regions within countries and match that to other regions in other countries.
Then it becomes more clearly. It's big cities and the regions around them that are most hit.
For an example in Sweden it's the county Stockholm having more than 4 times more infected people then the rest of Sweden.
And in Italy it's Lombardy.
The same in the US with most people infected in the state of New York.
And in California as well I belive.

Draw what conclusions you may but both conspicuous entities have been proven in the past to not be forthcoming with all or any of the facts of most situations involving the health and welfare of their citizens.........one went so far as to silence at least one canary in the coalmine..............
