Interesting that it takes an Australian newspaper to describe an organisation I'd never heard of as a "top UK think tank" - although it's possible that UK papers are still under an embargo before "publication tomorrow".

Read the Wikipedia entry for the Henry Jackson Society before making your mind up. My eye was caught by

In 2017, the Henry Jackson Society was accused of running an anti-China propaganda campaign after the Japanese embassy gave them a monthly fee of 10,000 pounds. The campaign was said to be aimed at planting Japan's concerns about China in British newspapers.
The last thing we need is a proxy war between China and Japan, fought in the courts and newspapers of the rest of the world.

China should be sued $6.5 trillion for damages
London: China should be sued under international law for trillions of dollars for its initial cover-up of the coronavirus pandemic which has caused more than 60,000 deaths and trillions of dollars in economic damage, a new report says.

The report said damages should be for at least the £3.2 ($6.5 trillion) being spent by G7 nations propping up their domestic economies as governments forced their citizens to stay at home so they could try and contain the disease's spread.
...
According to the report, Coronavirus Compensation? by conservative London think tank The Henry Jackson Society, China could be sued under 10 possible legal avenues, including the International Health Regulations, which were beefed up after the SARS outbreak, which China also tried to cover up.

The report said had China provided accurate information at an early juncture, "the infection would not have left China."

China only reported the disease to the WHO on December 31 and said there was no evidence of human-to-human transmission.

Many on a Ventilator Die. This frees up a Ventilator.

Yet I never hear how these 'freed up' Ventilators are part of the Numbers of Ventilators Available.

Daily Ventilator Numbers Game is Making Me Sick.

Same with Full Hospitals not anywhere near full. And Supplies needed Not Actually Needed

Wat a bunch of.....

Yep

p.s. Hydroxy Baby!!!!!

The U.S. is still going ballistic passing 310,000 out of 1,200,400 cases world wide while it looks like Spain has the upper hand on 2nd spot over Italy now.
But that's because the US are testing so many now. And the US is some weeks behind Europe.
Yesterday the deaths rate was 22/1M pop, today its 26/1M pop...
Yes, I'm wondering what the number will be by the time that their testing gets up to speed, there's a lot of catch up still to be played out over there as yet.

Wow, as I've said, who needs nukes.
16/8/60-20/7/85 residing there.
24/2/86-26/9/15 working there.
Not once did I ever see it like this.
I bet the air is clean & fresh.

"There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics." as Mark Twain said. Actually a quote that no one knows where it comes from. Not even Mark Twain did.
Then Stalin had his quote. "When one dies, it is a tragedy. When a million die, it is a statistic."
Now we have this https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/
Actually only numbers that no one understands it seems.
Oh. Maybe knowing that we are in deep S**T.

Since 2000, the number of hospitals in Russia has halved. Yet the Kremlin still manages to fund pointless vanity PR projects abroad in Italy. Beyond insulting. There is a lot of anxiety within Russia regarding its preparedness for #coronavirus

https://twitter.com/JuliaDavisNews/status/1246108002559672320
Trump claimed that Russia offered to send the supplies to America because it had a surplus. On the contrary, Russia itself is in dire need.
“They say, sew your own masks. There are no antiseptics… The doctors have no masks... We’re all sewing them.”

In "modern" Russia it's illegal to criticize health care preparedness.

Yes , this is modern [Putin] Russia:

So, 15 days in jail (for second participation in an unsanctioned demonstrations, if the person was previously warned) - it's absolutely not a death penalty.
P.S. Yes, it will be more harsh penalty if the person at the street demonstration fight against police... But sorry, what the US police does in that cases? ;-) Yes, it's sarcasm, so please don't explain me what the US police does.

Had that been the Captain of a Chinese or Russian Carrier, he would have 'disappeared' permanently and been releved of his life.

It's a ridiculous misinformation about modern Russia.

Yes , this is modern [Putin] Russia:

Putin Says Protesters Welcome to 'Get Shaved' in Jail

Russian President Vladimir Putin mockingly suggested on Tuesday that participants in unsanctioned [Anti-Putin] protests were welcome to go to prison and "get shaved."

In the latest in a series of interviews with state-run news agency TASS, Putin said opposition supporters who take part in unapproved [Anti-Putin] rallies should expect to be given jail time.

"If you have not received [MY] (permission) and taken to the streets — you are welcome to get shaved," Putin said, in reference to the practice of prisoners having their heads shaved.

"Get some rest. Relax a little bit," Putin said.

"There are certain rules for everybody to adhere to," Putin told Andrei Vandenko, who is doing a series of interviews with Putin to mark 20 years since he first became president.

"This is the law [of Putin]. And it must be obeyed. Otherwise, the country's stability [and MY leadership] will break down. Do we want to see cars torched [Or Free Speech] in our streets?"

Something I've been thinking about. What is happening with all the other things that go on worldwide? The whole damn new is only about the pandemic or other related topics.

+1

To the rest of us it can seem if it ain't about covid (important) or Trump or about something else about the USA like guns it really doesn't get discussed here!

So much virus that I can't even find the local weather forecast! The news radio at least still gives the traffic report, but that is now "roads open, slow down, watch your speed, brought to you by XYZ."

I did see DPRK did some more launches. Also saw a lunatic, with a price on his head, had a tiny patrol boat ram an icebreaker repeatedly with the expected result that the patrol boat is on the bottom. Lunatic is screaming that he was attacked. Wait until the world sees the video. Think there was an earthquake or three out there. Some idiots are climbing a mountain, despite not having permits.

But did you find any Cornish Pasties?
They had tassels.

Well ppl Welcome to 21st century , no news but Covid - 19 ???

the INTERNET and streaming .....!

Some are asking why are the death rates different from country to country and it's the Testing rate !

Australian Governments Chief health officer Doctor (somebody) :)

Say's he did not trust the data from other country's because of there testing rates , and he would only be using the Australian Testing data ...! ?

He said all country's China , U.S.A . Europe , Italy ............

Australia has tested 1% of the population . 24 mill ppl population of Australia

He also said he believes that the death rate is in fact lower than what has been reported , due to the fact he thinks there are in fact many times more ppl infected ,
in country's that are not testing at rates of Australia, Singapore and others ......

I gues we will see , i am expecting our death rate to start increasing in the the next 5 -9 days as the cruse ship in flux no. start to take effect .

I hope he is correct on the death rate , as if he is wrong but , correct on the unreported infection rate some country's are in for a lot more trouble
