Which is where the CEO and board members must be made personally responsible for any useful positive change...

A corporation is a sovereign.

Yes. Which is where we now have our modern day gangsters and modern day slavery all under a corporate name...

Times need to change...

Not going to happen, it's too big a job.
The first thing you do as a sole trader is set up a company so that there is a separation of personal and company assets. So that if the company goes base over apex you still have a house etc.

If you can't do that, then you don't run a business. Too many lawyers, too much risk. Every family unit has to do everything for itself. Back to the stone age.

Continuing the blind denial and excuses:

Australia fires: PM rejects 'reckless' calls to limit coal industry

Australian PM Scott Morrison says he will not make "reckless" cuts to the nation's coal industry, despite criticism of his response to climate change and a deadly bushfire crisis....

... The nation has steadfastly backed coal-fired power for its economic value, despite the recommendations of a major report on climate change. The coal industry employs some 38,000 people... "What we won't do is engage in reckless and job-destroying and economy-crunching targets which are being sought," Mr Morrison told local broadcaster Nine...

... Mr Morrison said tackling climate changes was "as important now" as it was earlier this year, before the fire emergency. He said his nation was on track to meet its emissions reduction commitments - an assertion previously disputed by the UN...

... While carbon emissions within Australia are relatively low, its fossil fuel exports account for an estimated 7% of world emissions...

And yet the world burns...

That is still an improvement over the desperately dirty bunker fuel burning inefficient generators of old... Hopefully they will still reclaim the waste heat for heating for their personnel...

The next step is to add wind turbines and batteries... However, there is still a need for excess capacity for some heating...

The biggest problem with climate change is an individual's concept of time & their enjoyment.
Although many would prefer to travel by rail, the cost is often prohibitive. A Eurostar train from London to Paris emits up to 90% less carbon than flying, but a ticket generally costs twice as much.
Elias's father Mathias remembers a time when it was normal to spend a few weeks travelling by train to Greece or France.
"We were educated to forget this," he says. "We are now thinking that the only way to have a good experience is by taking a plane and going somewhere far and fast." And this summer, Luxembourg will be the first country to make all public transport free, in a bid to reduce traffic congestion in cities.
Travel by train & ditch the plane
As for costs, it all depends on the country.
In 2021, I've planned a nice holiday. Itinerary already organised. Originally, had 3 ideas. 1: Stay & drive. 2: hiring a 2 berth motorhome. 3: Stay & train.
Guess which one has turned out better financially & stress free! Option 3 wins by close to £200 less than the others. Ferry cost as foot passengers £128 return for 2, car £256, motorhome £353.
For the cost of the return journey from Peterborough to Holyhead (approx. £250 for 2, all travel in Ireland will be less than that & more than enough remaining to cover several days of lunches & dinners.
For example using todays prices: -
Peterborough - London open return for a day £76 for 2. Distance travelled approx. 101 miles each way.
Dublin - Tipperary open return £26 for 2. Distance travelled approx. 113 miles each way.

Climate change: Last decade confirmed as warmest on record
The 10 years to the end of 2019 have been confirmed as the warmest decade on record by three global agencies.

According to Nasa, Noaa and the UK Met Office, last year was the second warmest in a record dating back to 1850.

The past five years were the hottest in the 170-year series, with each one more than 1C warmer than pre-industrial.

The Met Office says that 2020 is likely to continue this warming trend.

2016 remains the warmest year on record, when temperatures were boosted by the El Niño weather phenomenon.

Christmas has hardly come to an end, but in the Kungsträdgården in Stockholm, some brave cherry blossoms have already begun to spring out, several months early. So far, there has not been much to winter in Stockholm and in mid-January it was almost 11 centigrade warm. That's 52 F (In Trumpland that use Fahrenheit).

Similarly for my garden here in the UK:

Rather far too early, there is spring budding and blooming.

And the weather is mild enough that I've not had my central heating on this year yet!

All very worryingly not normal.

I have learnt a new word today apropos Davos.
Greenwashing:)
These statements not only come from nothing but are about pension funds, companies and individuals starting to press for fund management companies to invest more sustainably.
So while we see more and more significant financial players preaching the climate's praise and taking tiny tiny step towards more sustainable investment, we also, especially during the days in Davos, are learning more and more who want to strengthen their company's image and are closely associated with wanting to save the climate without actually taking any steps in the right direction.

Quite right. All these claims of saving the planet and cutting CO2 are hogwash. We know the answer, cut people. Until we are willing to reduce the planet population to a number near that suggested by the Georgia Guide Stones we will broil and bake. And that may be why we haven't found ET, they may have global warmed their planet and they died off. A negative result for SETI may in fact be far more significant that a positive answer.

Yes. But cutting off springs is nothing that is something new or special. The correlation between wealth and birth is still very strong. If you are poor then produce children, if you are rich you don't.
How are most common people that will change our planet the most in climate change with higher temperatures react in the future? Oh... the future is very near!

There are also the important effects of education, culture, and whatever sense of 'security'. Typically, more education and better security equates to fewer births.

And then there is the Russian way of population control:

All a problem of greedy short term politics?

Sir David Attenborough says fixed-term parliaments lead to lack of climate focus wrote:
...Sir David said one of the problems with Parliament having a fixed length of five years is that the effects of climate change may only be felt much later.

"It is very difficult to persuade politicians that they should give money and time and attention and worry about an issue which is not going to come to a climax - and people won't know if it is successful or not successful - for 10 years hence, 15 years hence," he said...
