Read the article.I'm sorry, but I did, about 10-12hrs ago and if you'd had used the proper news title instead I wouldn't have wasted my time going there and I may of instead wasted time posting my own opinion . :-D But you do tend to kill/murder the links that you post by adding your own titles to them. :-( Cheers. |

Okay, I'll explain so that even a layman can understand. Politicians gather to vote on bills/laws that their citizens are required to obey if passed into law. Reasonable one would think. What message was being sent here? Politicians whose job it is to govern avoiding their responsibilities, & paid to do so by those citizens, evading said responsibilities, hearing that police have been tasked to pull them in, state "Make sure they're bachelors & well armed". Therefore, I cannot see what your problem is with the title of the link. With "people" like that governing, no wonder the world is in a mess. |

Send bachelors & well armed As detailed on the SOLUTIONS thread: Incredible! Despicable. Pathetic. So the Republicans run to the hills rather than save our only one planet. AND DEMAND GUNS wielded by MAD GUNG-HO BACHELORS to add to the American stupidity?!!! Are those pathetic idiots for real??!!! All badly greedily corrupt?... All on our only one planet, Martin ps: Sirius, your titles are misleading enough as to be annoyingly counterproductive... Meanwhile in India, the predictions of the effects keep coming true... Four reservoirs, which supply Chennai's water, have almost run dry. And the groundwater levels have dropped drastically over the years. Chennai is on the coast of the Bay of Bengal... I hope that they have sense enough to plan for the future and build a desalination plant. |

Send bachelors & well armed https://www.reuters.com/article/us-climatechange-oregon/oregon-capitol-building-closed-as-precaution-amid-partisan-dispute-idUSKCN1TN0PS Some right-wing militia groups have expressed support for the absent Republican lawmakers Isn't a call for an armed overthrow of the government actionable? |

Not a solution but a denial, so what was it doing in that thread?Send bachelors & well armed Also, your statements can also be misleading where the underlined is concerned. A State Senator "requesting" that the police "make sure" that the officers that come for him should be well armed & bachelors is how I read that statement. Am I wrong to do so? For those complaining about my link titles, Why now? Got an itch you can't scratch? |

Send bachelors & well armed Yes. Amazing. Is that/those "State Senator/s" so lost behind the times that he/they is/are living in some fanciful John Wayne Wild West TV show?... That is certainly not reality, and sets a bad and desperate and pathetic example. For those complaining about my link titles, Why now?... Benefit of positive doubt until those link titles now look more like click-bait rather than anything meaningful... Not a solution but a denial, so what was it doing in that thread?...Send bachelors & well armed The main emphasis should be how the majority of State Senators are voting FOR measures to combat climate pollution. Hence for being in the SOLUTION thread. The pathetic few runaways should be an irrelevant aside... Except for their quorum maneuver... Really, are those Republicans so desperate or so corrupt as to bring their administration down into disrepute? Only in America? Meanwhile, this is yet another example of what will become an ever more likely occurrence as we continue to pollute our planet ever further: France 40C heatwave could break June records ... Temperatures are expected to reach 35 degrees or more on Monday, and climb even further until the peak on Thursday and Friday... ... Temporary fountains have been put in place and public pools will stay open later as part of an extreme heat plan. Water will also be distributed and a care plan will be put in effect for vulnerable people including the elderly, as high humidity will make 40C feel like 47C in the capital. France, Germany, Switzerland and Belgium could all see national records for June broken in the coming days – but France is particularly aware of the dangers posed by the hot weather. Comparisons are being drawn to the heat wave France experienced in August 2003 - in which almost 15,000 people died... Meanwhile, this is yet another example of what will become an ever more likely occurrence as we continue to pollute our planet ever further: And thus it comes to pass, exactly as predicted: France heatwave: Paris region closes schools France is starting to close dozens of schools because of a heatwave, with temperatures expected to climb above 40C (104F) in some regions on Thursday... ... In parts of northeastern Spain the heat is expected to reach 45C on Friday. Germany and Italy are still below 40C... ... Experts are linking the heatwave to climate change, as global temperatures have already risen 1C since industrialisation... ... In the state of Saxony-Anhalt, eastern Germany, speed limits have been imposed on motorways because of the risk of severe heat damaging road surfaces... Meanwhile, we continue to have the same old destructive greedy politics: 'Triple whammy' threatens UN action on climate change A "triple whammy" of events threatens to hamper efforts to tackle climate change say UN delegates... ... To the frustration of a huge majority of countries, the objections of the four major fossil fuel producers, meant that the scientific report was not formally recognised in the negotiations... ... Many environmental campaigners see the Saudi pressure on the IPCC as part of campaign to discredit the science. "The report shows the importance of striving towards 1.5C, that it is still achievable, and there is an incredible urgency to act vigorously and quickly," said Dr Jeni Miller from the Global Climate and Health Alliance... ... Critics believe that Japan is trying hard to win favour with the US on trade issues by downplaying the scale of the climate question and possible solutions to it... ... "Japan, alongside China, is the biggest financier of coal overseas in the world and the government continues to build new coal plants domestically despite our huge solar and wind power potential." As well as Japan, other leading economies are continuing to support coal based power generation. A study released by the Overseas Development Institute says that G20 nations have almost tripled the subsidies given to coal fired plants in recent years, despite the growing need to cut emissions. And for just one world affecting consequence, on-going, continuing, now: YouTube: Seven surprising results from the reduction of Arctic Sea ice cover | David Barber | TEDxUManitoba ... Extensive investigations at the leading edge of Arctic System Science have recently uncovered a number of surprises, many somewhat counterintuitive, each having significant consequences in the Arctic and through teleconnections to the rest of our planet. In this talk I will review the rate and magnitude of change in sea ice, put this into the context of our understanding of the ‘natural variability’ in sea ice over the past several thousand years. I will then review seven surprising impacts of this change... ... As a member of the Centre for Earth Observation Science he leads a polar marine science group of over 100 people... That's from a few years ago (2015) from someone who has a lifetime of experience there. As presented, we are seeing more of those effects each day... Deny that?... Madness?! Meanwhile, this is yet another example of what will become an ever more likely occurrence as we continue to pollute our planet ever further: Europe heatwave: Why are temperatures on the continent soaring? Countries across Europe are experiencing record-breaking heat and issuing health alerts, urging people to keep cool, as sweltering temperatures are expected to intensify across the continent. The heatwave has already caused flash floods and forest fires, grounded planes and buckled train tracks and led to school closures and warnings over air quality... ... Heatwaves are not uncommon, but according to weather experts they are being amplified by a rise in global temperatures and are likely to become more frequent - one of the more predictable impacts of our warming climate ... "Now when we get a heatwave, it is likely to be a degree or so more," he said. "They are still extreme events, but they are also becoming more frequent."... ... If the current trend were to continue, heatwaves across Europe could occur as often as every other year by the 2040s, with the possibility that temperatures may rise by 3-5C by 2100, the report said... All as long ago accurately predicted... And yet we continue to pollute ever more... Meanwhile, we continue to have the same old destructive greedy politics: Attempts to 'erase the science' at UN climate talks Oil producing countries are trying to "erase the science" on keeping the world's temperatures below 1.5C, say some delegates at UN talks in Bonn. Meanwhile, try erasing the reality of our global pollution powered global warming new weather? Mexico hail: Ice 1.5m thick carpets Mexico's Guadalajara Six suburbs in the Mexican city of Guadalajara have been left carpeted in a thick layer of ice after a heavy hail storm. The ice was up to 1.5m (5ft) thick in places, half-burying vehicles... ... 200 homes have been damaged and dozens of vehicles swept away in the city and surrounding districts. State governor Enrique Alfaro described it as incredible, according to AFP. "Then we ask ourselves if climate change is real. These are never-before-seen natural phenomena," he said...
