To my reading, that is an excellently well written article that explains, clearly and concisely, what makes truly good sounds.

Enjoy!

....If you have installed the Linux version of the Free Download Manager between 2020 and 2022, you should check and see if the malicious version was installed.....
That hasn't been installed on mine, but then I havn't wanted to download a "Free Download Manager" for any reason.

Cheers.

France has banned the sale of iPhone 12s over 'failed radiation tests' — what does this mean for Australians?

......The main issue caused by a phone's "non-ionising" type of radiation is the heating up of body tissue.

Above set limits, and depending on the duration of exposure, this can lead to health effects such as burns or heat stroke, according to the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP), a body that sets guidelines for the limits globally.

The ANFR said accredited labs had found a SAR of 5.74 watts per kilogram during tests of the iPhone 12 being held in the hand or kept in a trouser pocket.

The EU standard is 4 watts per kilogram.

However, this represents no risk to human health, the chair of ICNIRP, Rodney Croft, said.

The World Health Organization (WHO) and other international health bodies say there is no definitive evidence that radiation from mobile phones causes other adverse health effects.

However, it has called for more research......

Have to agree that is is a very big issue.
However, my concern is the media.
Very few reports are made when the same can be said of public institutions aside from private companies.
For example, for the past several years, I've been getting hit by 2 of those - NHS & DWP.
NHS have been sending out appointments for me to attend various hospitals for "clinical" trials.
When enquiring as to where they got my details, was informed from the NHS Digital database.
Haven't received anymore since I requested they cease & desist.
DWP, as for the NHS, been getting hit bt a private company called Portfina regarding putting my pension to better use, each time I get one of those, I send it back filled in with just 3 words - KMA.
Of course they provide a business reply envelope, so why bin it. :-)

IMHO, the worse has to be the CAB's [Citizens Advice Bureau) online forms.
Religion, sexual orientation etc.
Sheesh.
One of these days, I'm going to tell them I'm a fish going through a gender crisis.
Probably end up getting a visit from PC Plod accusing me of breaching the Computer Misuse Act.

Advice use a password manager ... https://krebsonsecurity.com/2023/09/lastpass-horse-gone-barn-bolted-is-strong-password/
LastPass told customers this week they would be forced to update their master password if it was less than 12 characters. LastPass officially instituted this change back in 2018, but some undisclosed number of the company’s earlier customers were never required to increase the length of their master passwords.

This is significant because in November 2022, LastPass disclosed a breach in which hackers stole password vaults containing both encrypted and plaintext data for more than 25 million users.

Since then, a steady trickle of six-figure cryptocurrency heists targeting security-conscious people throughout the tech industry has led some security experts to conclude that crooks likely have succeeded at cracking open some of the stolen LastPass vaults.

There are better ways... And for very low cost with great benefit...

Yet...?

Which leads onto the fundamental questions of the restrictions and profiteering from copyright?

The fundamental question is can an idea be owned or protected?

Melting point of Calcium Carbonate (egg shell) is 1517f.

Perhaps better general knowledge so better questions can be asked is a requirement for humans to interact with AI or for that matter other humans, perhaps it helps with Dunning–Kruger too.

(the retorts at work get well above that temperature occasionally we even melt the steel tools even though we don't really want to get that hot)
<ed>Or what is meant by "melt an egg" Does that refer to the interior of a frozen egg? The shell? Or is the premise of an entire egg being some solid that is subject to a phase change (melting) even make sense?
Ask stupid questions, get stupid answers. Or is that GIGO in the IT world?

Nah, I'll pass.

Mark Zuckerberg has announced two major two tech products and huge changes to apps used by billions of people.

Mark Zuckerberg’s company Meta has made a series of major announcements that will shake up the way billions of people use technology and interact with the world.

Headlining the Meta Connect event in Menlo Park, California, was the new Meta Quest 3 mixed reality headset. It’s a major upgrade to the Meta Quest 2 device, and now blends the real world with virtual reality in a way never seen before, but I can foresee problems happening.

Zuckerberg also revealed new advances in artificial intelligence that will change the way billions of people use popular apps like Facebook and Instagram.

The third major announcement was the next generation of Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses. The glasses will be shipped with the Meta AI installed, with massively upgraded hardware and a new livestreaming feature......
At for $799.99 for the 1st and $449 for the 2nd I'll more than just pass.
