Now am I surprised at that. How long before corporates realise that "the Cloud" is just a way of pouring money away while watching one's corporate data seep slowly into someone else's hands and start to roll back to their own data centres? But they said it was secure and they are better than we are ... besides we can make experienced people redundant. Why is this happening? |

I'm surprised that this has taken so long to come to light: Lithuania urges people to throw away Chinese phones wrote: Consumers should throw away their Chinese phones and avoid buying new ones, Lithuania’s Defence Ministry has warned. Who has control of your phone to 'monetize' your very personal and intimate data, or worse?... IT is what we allow it to be... More supply chain and power supply strain: Cryptominers Target AMD Ryzen CPUs for Their Big L3 Caches wrote: A new victim in cryptominers' sights... Yet another cryptocoin bursts upon the scene... We really do need to reign back this unrelenting electrical-power-to-money greedy grab (crypto-ponzi schemes) before we smash all the supply chains and burn up our planet all too soon. Total madness all round?! IT is what we allow it to be... Martin See new freedom: Mageia Linux Take a look for yourself: Linux Format The Future is what We all make IT (GPLv3) |

Don't call use we won't call them...... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-59609998 A very dangerous bug - I hope nobody died as a result of MS's continued use of its customers/victims to do their alpha testing... "I'm supposed to trust that a phone will do the main thing [it] is built for, and place the call, and let me speak to the human on the other end."It seems "smartphones" are not so smart after all. |

Another millions of eyeballs bug ... https://apnews.com/article/technology-business-lifestyle-software-apple-inc-aed3cc628fc602079b100757974c8f01 in the 12 hours since the bug’s existence was disclosed that it had been “fully weaponized,” meaning malefactors had developed and distributed tools to exploit it. for those that have to deal with it https://www.theregister.com/2021/12/10/log4j_remote_code_execution_vuln_patch_issued/ |

Unbelievable! $2,500 Ethernet Switch Effectively Isolates Audiophiles From Cash That is for a 5 port network switch (or router?) housed in black anodized aluminium... Wow?... Yup, very effective at separating "audiophiles"/"audiofools" from their cash. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

Now here's an Apple product that definitely needs to be banned. Sports Illustrated model Brooks Nader says Apple AirTag was used to stalk her. ....Nader is hardly the first woman to be stalked with the aid of Apple tech. |

The stupidity of walking around flashing huge amounts of bling may play a large part. There is no difference between an air tag and find my phone, except for the price of the tracker. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3c584TGG7jQ Oh and https://beebom.com/best-apple-airtag-alternatives/ So I don't think there will be any ban. Especially as the police will want this less expensive tracking of suspects. |
