There's definitely some sort of atmospheric/weather resonance goin' on to similarly flood across these parts over on this antipode...

Stay dry?

While Euabalong residents are to be flown out of town and Moulamein residents become isolated as those slow moving inland lakes continue on their meandering way down to S.A. this is the last bit of news we need.

Tropical cyclones reached Sydney in the 1950s and they could return.

Anyhow stay safe and dry.

Cheers.

Well the last day of spring down under here was rather wintery again and ended our month with our average minimum temp for the November being down by 3C at 6.2C while our average max was also down by 3C at 20.4C. Our month's rainfall was also down at 46.5mm from the 120mm average, though we are still almost 90mm ahead of the average year to date number.

Anyhow December looks like it'll be off to a cool damp start as well.

Cheers.

The recent story of a little country town that was almost wiped off the map by the floods.

Meanwhile frantic efforts are being made down in S.A. in preparation for all the water coming their way, but it's not all plain sailing.

Riverland resident spends thousands building private levee, but can't claim flood assistance.

Stay safe and dry.

Cheers.

With the approaching 1st flood peak Vulnerable evacuated as SA's River Murray swells (video) with reports just coming in of emergency evacuations taking place as a recently built levee bank is likely to soon give way.

Meanwhile it's likely that a bit more water could be sent down that way from here this evening as rain and thunderstorms (possibly severe) are expected up around this part of the country again, but that'll still take months to get there.

Stay safe and dry.

Cheers.

Looking at the Radar, the amount of rain isn't all that much- but with the ground still saturated, dams still full, creeks still high & many of those rivers still in flood, just about every last drop is going to be runoff & just top up the existing flooding.
And it wasn't all that long ago the only storms in those areas were dust storms.

It's suppose to be summer here.

Snow, cold-snap in NSW Snowy Mountains has locals hoping for a white Christmas.

It was a chilly 2C (felt like 0C) at this end of the range.

Cheers.

Meanwhile floodwaters continue to rise down in S.A..

River Murray flooding to be worst in almost 70 years with hundreds of properties already deluged.

Stay safe and dry down there.

Cheers.

Floodwaters in 1 town are starting to subside after a couple of months being underwater.

As our slow moving flood continues more flood levees are under threat in S.A..

SES issues warnings for Murraylands towns, as historic Overland Corner Hotel evacuated.

Stay safe and dry down there.

While it's been drying out at this end of the country over the last 2 months down S.A. they're still putting up with that slow moving floodwater and it still has a long way to go yet.

River Murray peak passes Renmark, up to 1,800 properties flooded so far.

But as the Darling river lakes system becomes overfull forcing releases more flooding from Menindee down to S.A. is going to happen.

Menindee residents left with questions ahead of Darling River flood peak.

I wonder if there's a record on the slowest moving flood around?

Cheers.

Would you consider a glacier a slow moving flood?

Well for December our temps were below average yet again. Our av. low for this month was 8.2°C down from the long term av. of 11.5°C while the av. max was 23.8°C down from 25.3°C.

We also only received 52.25mm of rainfall for the month down from out 111.7mm av., but we still beat our yearly av. of 907.2mm with a total of 936.5mm being recorded here.

Anyhow well see if next year is any warmer.

Cheers.

Hey...

We're very appreciative of your extra donation of +12 deg C here for the temperatures round here!

(Shame about the worldwide pollution causing that...)

Keep shining!!

As that slow moving flood continues down south up north the flooding is happening at a much faster rate.

Major floods and wild weather isolate towns across northern Australia as ex-Tropical Cyclone Ellie maintains strength.

Too much freshwater flowing out of the Murray River and into the sea is causing problems for a lot of saltwater creatures. :-(

Dead marine life washes onto south coast beaches near mouth of flooding River Murray.

Sadly that freshwater outflow will continue for a couple of months yet.

Meanwhile up north.

Frustration builds as evacuations delayed in 'severe' Kimberley flood emergency.

I guess that's 1 way to get rid of a foreign invader and fertilise fields at the same time, but I don't think that the method will catch on.

Thousands of dead carp on northern Victorian farms after floods.

Cheers.

Well, they were concerned that there had been some damage to the Fitzroy River bridge, but now the water's gone down it's plain to see it's much worse than they first thought.

Kimberly River bridge collapses in record floods.

And sections of the approaches have been washed away as well.
