When one is a realist one is never disappointed but may, occasionally, be pleasantly surprised.

Chris,
Good to see you are still around. By the way I don't dream of $10 million dollar yachts, I picked something at random. But my dreams are always things that are just out of reach. Not because I look for disappointment but because I want to push myself. I college I was able to hone my skills to become an alternate on the US Olympic Archery team. The interesting thing about shooting arrows over a long distance is that you do not aim at the target. You aim above it. I have always lived my life like that. I aim above what I want to achieve. From time to time I have surprised myself. But generally I seem to always get beyond what I thought was possible. However, I do understand irrational and delusional thinking. However some people escape the pain of daily life with drugs, alcohol or delusional dreams. From the perspective of how some people are forced to live due to health, education, or other outside factors, delusional dreaming is not a bad choice.

The art of target shooting is knowing how far above and ahead of the target to aim

Maybe that's why I only got close to the Yellow bulls eye zone, I was considered the best archer in My Boy Scout Troop and that was with no practice, just a few Erroll Flynn movies on Robin Hood to watch.
