Hello everyone. I have a problem and I have not found any answers yet. I'm running the Seti project and the World Community Grid on my PC, however, whenever I have other projects working in parallel, the Seti screensaver no longer appears and only alternates the graphics of the other projects. I have tried various configurations and even have different work hours between projects, but nothing seems to work. However, if I remove the other project, the Seti screensaver comes back immediately, which is very sad. Will someone know what's going on? Thank you.

According to your tasks list, you only run work on your GPU(s). Work on the GPU at Seti doesn't have a graphics app responsible for the screen saver. At this project only work run on the CPU has the graphics app.

Other projects may be able to run their graphics app at the same time with calculations done on the GPU. This project chose not to do so.

Thank you Ageless for such a quick response. I do not think that's the case, because according to the photo I leave here, I'm working Seti on the CPU and GPU. All kinds of Seti tasks are enabled. Thank you.

If you are running World Community Grid at its "unlimited" tasks setting it has a tendency to starve Seti cpu tasks. Since the Seti cpu tasks "run" the Seti screen saver.

I have the WCG website set the tasks to limit them to no more than 5 tasks per subproject. This allows me to run cpu Seti tasks without having WCG crowd them out.

If you are still running gpu tasks on your Intel iGPU I strongly recommend you turn off the intel gpu tasks on your Seti website. When the Intel gpu crunches it slows the entire system down.

Running cpu core count at 90% of the actual available threads usually speeds up production.

Having had a look at your validated tasks list i see you are running SETI tasks, predominantly on your nVidia GPU, with the odd one on the built-in "iGPU", and the main CPU.
Run-times on the nVidia GPU are a bit slow, but they run so quickly (about ten minutes), and if they run concurrently with other projects running on your CPU then you would never actually notice them run.
Your CPU run-times are longer than expected, which, in part, can be down to the use of a screen-saver. SETI does have a screen-saver for the CPU, but I'm not sure if it will hot swap with another one. Other projects may. But thinking about it, screen-saver swapping is probably an o/s function.

One thing that might improve the situation (no guarantees here) is to stop getting tasks for the iGPU - it is known that these all too often drag resources from the main CPU when doing computational work. The easiest way I can think of is to go to each project's options page (https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/prefs.php?subset=project for SETI) and turn it off. This may take a time (hours, not days)to come into affect.

My Windows BOINC screen saver displays screen savers from Seti and all the World Community Grid projects I am enrolled in.

Hallo zusammen!

Einzeln geht. Beide gleichzeitig Nein! Es müssen aber beide ausgestellt sein!!! Bitte Ihr von Seti@Home korrigiert diesen Fehler!!! Vielen Dank!!

Ihre Nutzerin und Helferin!!! Und bitte geben Sie mir eine Rück-Antwort!!
