Might it work for 750 Ti aswell?

Think the 750 Ti was always viewed as Pascal anyway. It is CC 5.0 so satisfies the special app requirement since the beginning.

This is my summary of the beta test of one of Petri's 0.98b1 iterations this weekend. I tested setiathome v8 enhanced x41p_V0.98b1, Cuda 10.01 special. This was a version that requires the latest 418 Nvidia drivers which contains the requisite CUDA version of 10.1. It will not work with previous drivers that only contain CUDA 10.0. It also was a version that is different from previous drivers by using an -unroll =1 internal parameter.

The host gpus were a RTX 2080, GTX 1080 and a GTX 1070.

I observed no errors, invalids or increase in Inconclusives. Inconclusives decreased from a nominal 130 running rate to a nominal 120 rate.

Overall efficiency improved in the host improved. The gpu APR for the host previous to testing was running around 2400 GFLOPS. That is the same APR observed on the twin of the host with the same build vice a 1070 Ti versus a 1080. The host achieved a gpu APR of 2900 GLOPS, an improvement of 500 GLOPS I attribute solely to the beta app. The mix of tasks during the test was a steady diet of the current BLC32 tasks.

I also observed a noticeable change in the task retire/task startup transaction on each card. Instead of the normal 2-3 seconds of elapsed time from when a task remaining time counted to zero and the next task comes aboard to start the elapsed time counter, I saw an almost immediate transaction of tasks exchange. The previous task counted to zero and the next task immediately appeared with counter already running. I attribute this to the -unroll 1 parameter. The benefit of this behavior is that the card spends more time crunching with less dead time between tasks.

I observed no appreciable change in power usage, I'm guessing maybe a 5W increase in power usage as viewed by nvidia-smi.

In general the task times improved by 10-30 seconds compared to the setiathome v8 enhanced x41p_V0.97b2, Cuda 10.00 special application I have been running on the host. The improvements were typically:
2080 - 60 seconds >> 45 seconds
1080 - 80 seconds >> 60 seconds
1070 - 120 seconds >> 90 seconds

I also ran an offline bench of the setiathome v8 enhanced x41p_V0.97b2, Cuda 10.00 special app against the setiathome v8 enhanced x41p_V0.98b1, Cuda 10.01 special app. The test WU were the standard WU's provided in benchMT benchmark tool and were a good mix of previous and current work with representation of standard Arecibo, Arecibo VLAR's and BLC tasks.

excellect test report and nice findings concerning the performance (+500GFlops) and validity (equal or better than old one) of different tasks. The finding(s) with the idle time going down is an interesting one too.

It seems to be working nicely on the 10x0 series.

Thanks to Oddbjornik, TBar and some other volunteer testers too.

I have compiled a new executable that should run on new Linux versions and 'old' GTX780 (sm35) and upwards. I've sent that to TBar (and select partners) for reference.
I and TBar are still working hard to get a stable multiplatform capable version that toleretes the differences introduced by different driver versions combined to different GPU architectures and Linux versions.

TBar will get a software update in a minute or two. Now going to do that. Bye.

I downloaded v418.xx of the Linux NVIDIA graphics driver on my Linux box. I also downloaded the new All-In-One BOINC. I went to shut down BOINC via BOINC Manager. The little window pops up to stop all running tasks and I checked the box. The manager went away, but it still appears to be running in Linux's version of Task Manager and the tasks are still running. I went into BOINCTasks and set the Linux box to No New Tasks, just in case.

How do I now shut down BOINC completely? I'm not sure if I can do it the same way as I do with my Pis using "sudo service boinc-client stop".

Are you sure the client is still running? After you exit the Manager with the "exit, and shut down running tasks" checkbox, it can take up to a minute for the client to exit depending on the project tasks that are running. if you see something like :
<your_login> <pid> 0.3 0.3 127708 55964 pts/2 Sl 15:43 0:36 boinc --redirectio --launched_by_manager
you can kill the process with
kill -9 <pid> where pid is the process id

This is the emergency way to stop a process !

I have better luck if I do a "two step" - First, in Boinc Manager do "File->shut down connected client" and then, second, do "Exit Boinc manager." I think I ran into your symptoms also and figured out this (above) works better. It may be because I'm running two instances of Boinc manager/client - don't know for sure.

Yep, still running 3 MB and 1 CUDA90. It's been almost an hour since I shut down the manager.

I have System monitor open right now. I will just kill them. Thanks for that, I wasn't sure that could be done or not. I'll let you know what I get. Still gotta install the new graphics driver and the new All-In-One. :)

The new v0.98 search algorithm was something that came to my mind a long time ago. Now was the time to implement it.
I did initial tests with pencil and square paper, then in Python to make the address calculations right and then in CUDA C. It turned out to be a success.

I've already got some new ideas how to make the program even faster. The debugger says there is some call overhead and waiting when transferring data from GPU to CPU for reporting.
