After becoming a Seti@Home user soon after its creation, I have now returned only to find its code-head level of demanding installation push me immediately into deleting my account and ripping the apps out by their roots.

What happened?!? The Seti@Home app I remember was intuitive, easy and fun. Now, it is something I don't understand or care about.

What was your issue?

You install BOINC, attach to a project & then just let it do it's thing.
If you want, you can change how it processes work, when it processes work, and how much work to keep on hand in case of outages just by changing the settings in your account. Or you can just go with the defaults.
If you want to get more from your system and improve it's output, you can. If you don't want to, you don't have to- just let it do it's thing using the defaults.

As the other person said, you can download and go. I only suggest you turn off the iGPU tasks for your internal gpu. Once those are processed, they will stop slowing the rest of your system down.

Since turning off the intel internal gpu tasks can be done at the Website, you don't have to do anything else.

The bulk of the technical tuning is done to the higher performing gpus. Since you don't have one of those, you don't need to dig into those details to get maximum production.
