My missus had me watch a two-hour interview with him on YouTube and I was quite impressed. I'll dig up the link if no one else does when I can (blocked at work.) (Edit: Found it in my message cache. Here it is.) He seems very knowledgeable of the issues, understanding of all political "sides'" motivations, and more importantly, is not divisive. He indicated he is running as a Democrat as he admits that unfortunately in the U.S.'s polarized two-party system it's impossible to get elected otherwise, or he would be an independent.

That's impressive, not only of him but also of you. It shows that you are not a "partisan" but determining the worth of candidate based on themselves rather than their party. I'm confident we'd find a lot more people were like that... if we had some better candidates!

Yeah, I'm late to the party I know :) But what can I say my interest in politics waxes and wanes. IRL my friends and I are nerds like this guy so not really politics material.
I'll go where the data takes me and I'm severely allergic to groupthink. I think Mark Twain had a quote along the lines of "If you find yourself siding with the majority it's time to pause and reflect" or something like that. Which is at least one quote the f*er got right because that "lies & statistics" quote of his (which Gary loves to drop) drives me up the wall!:)

WOW, thanks Alex. Also thanks Mr Kevvy for the link. IMHO, that is the best one on one political interview I've not only watched but genuinely enjoyed in the past 50 years.

Only problem as I see it is that he will never be president as he is way too far ahead of his time. The system as it stands WILL never allow men or women of his calibre anywhere near the highest podium in the world.

However, I loved the very last comment: A Joe Rogan podcast with President Yang from the White House. That would be something to see. :-)

I watched a bunch of other smaller clips on random issues and he seems to knock it out of the park every time. Hopefully the next year and a half proves to be really interesting.

(Though I do have one major caveat -that no-one will care about so technically irrelevant - and one major worry that may crop up down the line... but that's for a later date)

So I sent another 5 bucks to each of the Fab Four:

Then tried twice to send $5 to the GPUUG and $20 to SETI but my card was declined (without any further info).
So either my bank threw a hissy-fit on a 5th donation in less than 10 minutes or my card is somehow suddenly incompatible with the donation system.

I'll give it another shot in a few days.
