Does it give a lot more performance? also how much does it increase the power draw?

I have also seen a few posts that mention you can optimize the GPU with command line tags? is there a guide to this at all explaining what each one does?, I assume that this will also increase power consumption?

Depends on what OS, GPU and work application you are running.

If you are not running the cuda special then SoG will benefit from running multiple tasks but you need to have a high end GPU with enough threads to support all the work units.

Give you the specs of your machine and we can tell you yes or no.

Cheers, it's running a 7820x, 32gb ram and a Titan Xp.
Am I right to assume that running 2 - 3 units on the card will push the power use quite a bit higher?, when running one unit it hits 100% usage but I see lots of dips in the usage over time.
Boinc / WU wise everything is stock so whatever units Seti chucks my way, I have opted into all of them in on the site.

I would think you could run 2 tasks per on the Titan Xp. Your tuning thread is https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=80859

Cheers ill have a look at tuning, I may leave the card running just the one unit, the blower can get loud on just one unit and it will only get louder as the weather warms up.

I poked around on the LeaderBoard looking for the highest performing Windows box. It had 4 gpus similar to your brand model. What I can't tell is if he is running more than one task. But if he is running 1 gpu task / gpu, his processing time is similar to yours.

I think he is using command line parameters and I am not sure how good they are.

If running two tasks takes about 30% longer for each task but doesn't come close to "doubling" the time it takes to process each task, it should be a good way to increase your production on a high end card.
This does NOT work on a gtx 1060 3GB however. It more than doubled the processing time for both tasks when I tried it under windows with SOG tasks.

on windows, i was running 3 tasks per GPU on my 1080tis. Since a Titan Xp is faster, I'd assume you could run 3 as well.
