Just down loaded 200+ tasks across 2 machines no problems all completed with no intervention.

Boincstats reports that the number of active users is now closer to 92K than 93K. Hardly surprising.

Really glad to hear that single 50/60's men have something useful to do with their lives again. Those of us with wives and partners managed quite well.

Yep it is one of my hobbies, along with walking, reading, playing computer games and photography so wouldn't really have time for a wife ;-)

An honest and fair reply. Each to his own as they say. Female company is not everyone's cup of tea :-)

Ha, I was being sarcastic, what I do with my time is none of your business.

I certainly don't have a big enough internet connection to run GPUgrid continuously.
My 620k upload is not near enough to keep those 90Mb uploads going continuously. I still have 6 left trying to get back to the server.

But I'm full here at Seti again :D

After I kicked off a manual update it seems to have worked completely auto-magically.

I hope the staff didn't stay up all night babysitting whatever it was they did to get us back on track.

Thanks to those who worked on the machines and got them up again. Personally I always preferred to do my admin duties in the middle of the night, as there were less people around to bother me in the middle of a task. :-)

Thanks !!!

See, the project is back. But the download issues remain the same.

Not here have had full caches on both my machines within a short time, no download problems at all.

PS. I left
<max_file_xfers_per_project>1</max_file_xfers_per_project>

Don't know if that helped

here <max_file_xfers>1</max_file_xfers> and I need to kick almost every download on one rig, but the others, with the same line work a treat with only an occassional hanger.

Message 1983178 - Posted: 3 Mar 2019, 17:58:26 UTC - in response to Message 1983172.

The very first machine that I brought back online to the project instantly hit download backoffs with project default <max_file_xfers_per_project>2</max_file_xfers_per_project>

But as I brought up subsequent machines with that same stock setting, the downloads settled down. I still can get left with one straggler download at the end of the download session though which can delay the next connection.

But when I attempted to change the max transfers to my normal 8, then the downloads reverted into backoffs and errors. So back to stock setting of two and just have to take a long time to download.

Yes it does seem to be "machine dependant" suddenly my number 2 machine has a stuck download, and nothing will move it.

Number 1 just keeps going, strange.

Five in a row, here. Personally, I'd love to take the damned server into a field and let it finally 'retire' in a stream of 7.62mm fire!
