Reading the posts in threads like this, I sometimes wonder how many people have noticed A) The 'Retry pending transfers' entry on the Tools menu (though that doesn't clear all backoff types) or B) The download list supports multi-select. Click, shift-click, Retry Now, put the kettle on. (Once selected, they stay selected, so it's just 'Retry' next time.) |

Restarting BOINC didn't work for me, but, on one of four computers hitting the re-try download button did............e-v-e-n-t-u-a-l-l-y But only one or two tasks at a time :-( Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

I've also noticed that, while I have not run out of work yet, and I'm still processing work at the same rate, my RAC is very slowly dropping. I can only assume this is due to wingmen running out of work, or being in very long backoffs causing delays in communication, and hence validation. Looks like things are breaking loose. All of a sudden the three crunchers here that haven't had a DL in 24 hours are now getting what was queued up delivered. Nothing I did here helped, except just hitting a Retry every so often. |

It seems the Arecibo MB tasks are making an appearance now. They were split 18 hours ago, LOL. |

Zal, a quota means you threw some errors (or aborted). It should clear if you don't do anymore. |

I've also noticed that, while I have not run out of work yet, and I'm still processing work at the same rate, my RAC is very slowly dropping. Look at the SSP and rate of return per hour. Running about 1/3 of normal at 50K/hr. Lots of people out of work because of download backoffs I assume. GeogeM and the replica cam back online. I have one computer downloading 4 at a time now ... Saw the replica is back online and running. Georgem has made it back. Put my max tasks back to 8 and downloads are freely flowing finally. Seti@Home classic workunits:20,676 CPU time:74,226 hours A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |

I see the AP Assimilator (synergy) kicked back in as well. I was wondering before if a hang in that was causing issues. IDK |

I checked my transfer list and had a huge amount of backlog but NO SUCCESSFULL ATTEMPTS TO DOWNLOAD. Something not right with client. Anyway, I selected "retry all" and entire backlog was cleared in under a minute. The client, 7.14.2, seems to have a problem restarting downloads when there are more than "X" of them is my guess. |

After the random delay, it will try one at a random time, and if that works, it'll try the others. The randomness is so we don't all hit the server at the same instant. You can randomly retry yourself, and it seems that you did and hit a lucky moment. But it worked because the staff had cured the problem, not because of what you did. |

Reading the posts in threads like this, I sometimes wonder how many people have noticed Retry All and multi-selection retry didn't end up with any tasks being downloaded. 2 tasks at once was too many. Thus the 1 at a time approach from everyone. |

After a good night's sleep everything is still fine here. Cheers. |
