You just have to be willing and able to change the openly available BOINC code to do what you want.

32 RTX 2080ti - I would not want the electric bill or the excess heat output from that setup.

This week, I would Love to have all that excess heat output! Though not the electric bill... It's getting down to -25 to -30 a couple days this week, and highs around -15 one day. So yeah, they can send all that heat my way, I'll gladly accept it. ;-)

Hi Al,

Where are you, Minnesota? We're cold here; next week one day will have a high of -8.

Have a great day! :)

Another couple of systems got busy and inflated their gpu counts. The interesting thing is both of them seem to be showing more cpu tasks than I have previously seen.

Someone just topped a million RAC?

Who does the RAC calculation? Is the graph we have locally created or do we get it from Server results?

Credit is calculated and awarded on the server, following validation.

RAC is also tracked on the server, and reported back to your own computer to draw the graphs.

User stats seem to be calculated and stored on the server. But host stats seem to be stored on the host side and reported to the server.

Just check Juan’s user and host stats. It says his host has crunched more than him as a user. That shouldn’t be possible if all stats were server side.

I have 3 GPU boards, all by nVidia, a GTX 1060 on my latest Windows 10 PC, a GTX 750 Ti on a Linux box, and a GTX 750 on my former Windows machine. I had to install it in place of 1050 Ti because my latest monitor supports only a VGA cable. All work on SETI, Einstein and GPUGRID GPU tasks and the Windows PCs show the SETI screensavers, very pretty and also giving information on the data. I see Green Bank data from October 15 2018 and January 31 2019 Arecibo. I don't give a damn about RAC.

Some crunchers are system admins or similar and have their employers permission to use them in this way.

i never said otherwise. simply that 4 out of the 6 users with >1M RAC are doing so with hundreds of computers.

2 of them are Gridcoin crunchers 1, is W3Perl who everyone knows is a sys admin with permission, and im not sure if anyone knows who the antony guy is, he just showed up this year. but he's in France as well, so maybe W3Perl knows him.

you could have just bought an $8 HDMI to VGA adapter. thats what i use for my 10-series cards to hook to my VGA-only KVM.

All stats are based on those calculated on the server. As was explained earlier, the credit for each task is calculated on the server and then sent back to the host where the local plots. Then there are the various third-party stats sites, which again use the figures calculated on the servers and distributed to those sites.
RAC is a rolling average credit, and the "official" figure is calculated on the server and sent to the relevant host and user. Some of the stats site do their own version of RAC, and, as we have seen recently, these stats sites are not always as reliable as they should be.

i'm talking about the difference between HOST stats and USER stats. as reported by here, seti's own website.

see Juan's user stats: https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_user.php?userid=8606388
User Total ~436M points
User RAC ~278,000

now if you look at his individual host stats: https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/hosts_user.php?userid=8606388
Host Total ~1.36B points
Host RAC ~1,050,000

since the user total stats should be the sum of the host stats, it doesn't make sense for the user total to be less than any individual host, or vice versa for the host to be greater than the user total.

Juan had some kind of problem with his system recently, and when he brought it back up, his host stats skyrocketed like this, which means his host reported something to the server to affect this change. looking at his break down, day 1 of his host being back on he reported 1.36 billion total points and a RAC of 1.3M (but this is quickly dropping since his true RAC is ~280,000 per day)

Juan has no clue what happened. He hosed his system up completely and had to rebuild/reinstall everything from scratch. Why his individual host stats got inflated is the question. I agree with Ian, it had to come from what his new host ID reported.

Since the ONLY "feedback" from a client's machine is the run time for each task, and NO credit information is fed back (either the user, task or client) the only place for such a thing to happen is on the server.
Juan's case is most definitely a strange one, and appears to be an isolated one.

[Edit] - What is very strange is that Juan's computer history only goes back to January this year, and yet his account goes back to 2007. For most users one can see a user's entire computer history by clicking on the "show all" computers option - and that does nothing when looking at Juan's account....

I can get an adapter that goes from one of my gtx 750Ti to vga. I got it at Target. Found the equivalent at Walmart. You to can run a 1050Ti with an adapter cable so you can see what you are doing on your VGA monitor. I only have Vga monitors.

As I stated, he had to start from scratch. So join the project, get a NEW Host ID, get work and start reporting. That is why his Host history is only a couple days old. He would still have his old Host ID in his "Show All" report. His account history is unchanged, but how and why a new host ID is reporting such outlandish numbers is the question.

If the data that is put in the statistics_setiathome.berkeley.edu.xml file comes from the servers solely so the Manager can draw the graphs in the Statistics tab, why did the servers misinterpret the new host with such outlandish numbers.
