Hello,

I want to use a dozen machines (i3 / i5) with a gpu each to perform calculations.
The test gpu is a 400 quadro
(also tested on geforce 1060)

I use ubuntu server (18.04 or 18.10).

I proceed as follows:
sudo apt-get install boinc-client
/etc/init.d/boinc-client start

boinccmd --host localhost --project_attach setiathome.berkeley.edu my-setiathome-idxxxxx

Until then everything is fine, but when I check the use of the gpu in my profile on the site setiathome it does not appear while under windows 10 it appears ...

I tried to update the nvidia driver, install CUDA, install openCL, nothing changes.

Please help!

In Ubuntu there is a device/driver manager which allows you to select between the default (very poor) driver and a significantly better one - you have to "sudo" it to use it, and as I'm no where near my Linux boxes just now I can't look back through the command box list to tell you what it is.

Yes !

I installed ubuntu desktop 18.04 on a Dell optiplex 9010 and the same graphics card Quadro 400 (for test), after changing the driver for that of nvidia and installation of boinc, it works!

Previously I had tests with a Lenovo m75 and the same graphics card without it being detected by boinc.

the lenovo is an i3, the dell is an i5.

I will retest with lenovo and the same procedure.

ps:
After installing the graphics card, xorg crash.
there seems to be a conflict between nvidia, nvidiafb and nouveau.

Ubuntu desktop 18.04 works perfectly with Intel® Core ™ i5-4440 CPU @ 3.10GHz and MSI GeForce GTX 1060 6GB / PCIe / SSE2.
With the Nvidia driver, about 4.5Tflops.

So the problem comes from lenovo m75 ... A week that I'm looking for because of that.
