If I re-purposed some old hardware and bought a pair of gtx 1050 or 1050ti cards what sort of RAC would the cards get, not counting any crunching by the CPU? I would be using Linux and the optimised apps.

If you just go by the output of credits per hour of a 1050 or 1050Ti in the GPU FLOPS: Theory vs Reality thread, it looks like they do about 300 credits per hour. So a daily RAC of 7200 eventually after RAC finally settles down.

But that is from the OpenCL SOG application. So wouldn't reflect the true RAC of the special app. The closest thing I can think of is Raistmer's current experiment with using the special app on a single 1050Ti. It's only producing about 2200 RAC currently but it has only been online for a day or two now. I also don't know how much he has been running it. It is on the same hardware as his Windows host and is running off a USB stick he boots.

A 1050ti is good for about 25k RAC on the special app from my experience.

Pretty close there Ian.
I have a pair of sauced 1050Tis running 63.5k on dual LGA1366 X5880s which should be around the 10-13k mark for them.
So 25k each is pretty close.

Also, one other question. Has anyone tried running cards like that with just PCIe x1? I found some old threads about older cards but nothing very recent.

My best host (#1 on the leaderboard) has 6 1080tis running on PCIe gen 3 x1. There’s a very small performance hit.

I’ve also previously run a 1050ti on a PCIe gen1 x4 interface, which has the same bandwidth as PCIe gen3 x1.

It’ll run fine for SETI.
