like the others results, it's a noisy wu

3269886760

Thank you for that, Kissagogo27. :-) I just hope we don't get too many more of these.

In other news, I'm getting closer to having all the parts necessary to build a new Hackintosh!!! :-) Just picked up a Fenvi FV-T919 WiFi AC & Bluetooth 4 PCI-e x1 Card! All I need now is RAM, PSU, and, (maybe), a Win 10 Pro Install CD for Dual Boot.

Parts on Hand:

One ATAPI DVD-RW SATA Drive
Intel i7 7700K
CoolerMaster Hyper212 EVO
Fenvi FV-T919 WiFi AC & Bluetooth 4 Card
SilverStone FS303B 2-Full Size Bay Slot Take-up - 3 Hot Swap Drive Bay
Gigabyte GA-H270-HD3 MOBO
One EVGA GTX-760 Card
Two EVGA GTX-750TI SC Cards
E-ATX Full Tower Case - (Gaming Type with Blue LEDs on the Front Fans) - 5 140mm Fans

Parts on Order:

Two Samsung 860 Pro SATA III 1TB SSD Drives

Parts Needed in Next 6 Mos:

32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4-CL14 Dual Channel RAM
Corsair HX750i 750 Watt PSU
Windows 10 Pro x64 DVD

Parts Wanted over the Next Year to Year and a Half:

One MacVidCards "Low Power" NVIDIA GTX-1070 GPU
(May move two EVGA GTX-1050s from Prometheus into Hackintosh IF I can get the MacVidCards GPU)

I broke down and made a post at nVidia just to see what they would say. So far, after 4 days, they haven't said a thing. I placed the post right next to the Mojave Driver post for added effect, Conflict with macOS 10.12 & 10.13 Web Drivers and SETI@Home CUDA App? I suppose they are still pondering a response. I have found that for Me the problem is easier to solve in Sierra, so, I've gone back to Sierra for now.

The Instant overflow with all triplets happens with ALL versions of the Special App and there isn't a Fix. Fortunately they are all at Chirp Zero and will be discarded as RFI, i.e. the Noise Bomb will Never be used. There is a thread about Overflows with All Triplets if you search for it.

I have found that Non-Flashed GPUs in macOS will Always use PCIe Generation One no matter what the PCIe generation. So, unless you want to buy the much more expensive Flashed GPUs, you should try a motherboard with at least x8 slots. I have found a used ASUS board with Four x8 slots, so I'll be trying that soon. Hopefully it will work as a Hackintosh and give Full SETI speed to the four 1070s. We will see...

I believe you've been warned about restarting tasks, and told how to fix it. The checkpoint settings is in different places depending on your version of BOINC. Some have it in Disk & Memory, some have it at the bottom of the Computing tab. It is the Only setting in Computing preferences that mentions setting a checkpoint, you should set it higher than the longest running CUDA task.

RFI? Maximum allowed number of spikes is 30 IIRC. If it isn't some sort of computational error. See what your wing mates return when they return it. If they are not heavy in spikes, look at driver issues.

OK - I've set Checkpoint to 4 Min! (For all the good it will do...) I still use a "Daily Schedule" - Window from 18:00 to 09:00, daily. This means that Units WILL STILL get Suspended and Resumed...

We'll see....

With the longer than runtime setting, all that should result is the loss of that processing time, and it should stop the bad results from occurring.

...on two of them making sure the App is not missing pulses and then turning off the monitor works...
...it works fine as long as the monitor connected to the ATI card is running...
...connected to a TV that stays on all the time and is connected by another ATI card....

No Where does it say you can run monitors connected to NV cards and leave the monitor On. In Fact, that is the Whole problem. If the monitor is connected to a NV card it must be Off.
The only way to avoid the problem is to run Sierra and the older zi3v App, that has been stated before too.

No Where does it say you can run monitors connected to NV cards and leave the monitor On. In Fact, that is the Whole problem. If the monitor is connected to a NV card it must be Off.
The only way to avoid the problem is to run Sierra and the older zi3v App, that has been stated before too.

Thank you, again, TBar. I got confused... I thought, based on the fact that the real Mac is Crunching on ONLY a 2GB Card that NO monitor could be attached to the NVIDIA Card... I thought, incorrectly, that the new 1070 8GB Card 'could' Crunch with a monitor on...

OK - Now it's clear. I will have the monitor on the Hackintosh OFF from now on just before 18:00 Local Time and NOT turn the monitor back on until after 09:00 the next day.

I wish NVIDIA would fix the DAMNED Web Driver! This is getting RIDICULOUS, the number of steps I have to take on EACH Computer to keep Crunching without Errors!!! 😞😖😡

Why is it their fault that your system is having issues because you're trying to make it do things is was never meant to do?

TBar says, (along with Petri33), that this IS the fault of the NVIDIA Web Driver.

If you were to run Linux or Windows on the system with the relevant drivers you wouldn't be having these issues. If you were to run Apple hardware with their OS & the relevant drivers, you wouldn't be having these issues.

WRONG!!! My Mid-2010 REAL Mac Pro 5,1 WITH the same NVIDIA Web Drivers HAS THE SAME ISSUE!!! THE FAULT is the NVIDIA Drivers, ASK TBar!
