Winter has properly put its draws on here. Over the last few days it's been getting colder, we've had the first hint of snow, and this morning was just plain cold and unpleasant (and it's no better at lunch time).

It's a chilly 10 F at 9 am, and isn't predicted to get above 20 F, today, but is supposed to be 50 tomorrow.

Spring has sprung on the lower left coast.
Green everywhere.
Shorts and tee shirt.

And everyone in the rest of the country asks why houses cost so much here.

BUT, it is about a month early due to global warming. Should be the last week of February, not the last week of January.

Not as much flat or nearly flat land with a good to great climate compared to the midwest which does not have lots of Mountains or deserts and of course lots of people want to live in California, and this has been true since the 1970's, so a lot of stuff is imported into California, homes are not inexpensive here as the demand exceeds the available supply of houses and land to build houses on...

Want to have an inexpensive home? Expect to have a very long commute from the CA high desert, the farther from LA one is the hotter it gets in the summer and colder in the winter, the Victor Valley is especially cold in the winter thanks to snow on the San Gabriel and San Bernardino Mountain Ranges, but conversely housing becomes less expensive as the hotter/colder areas are less desirable to live at, most drive from LA to Las Vegas at high speed, only stopping for fuel/electricity, restrooms, and food, then it's back on the highway to their destination.

I was born in Los Angeles at Victory Hospital in 1960 and I have lived in the CA high desert since 1988, so I do know all that to be a fact.

Cherry blossoms bloom in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada,

that's the west coat of Canada, for those who don't know ;-)

while the rest of Canada freezes,

has been so mild, cherry blossoms have started to bloom,
