I noticed all of my NVidia GPU tasks are all listed as 'postponed' and I don't understand why.
I tried re-running the Lunatics app, and still showing all nvidia tasks as postponed.
Meanwhile I have 2 AMD GPU tasks running, and four CPU tasks.

My system has: I7-4790k, RTX 2070, GTX 1070 and an AMD R9-280X.
Everything seemed to be working fine, until I installed an updated NVidia driver yesterday. (417.01)

At startup, I see messages in the BOINC event log about missing an openCL driver. Seems like it isn't part of NVidia's install anymore - but there is a CUDA driver installed, and all of these tasks say (cuda32)

odd thing is, all of these postponed tasks are partially through processing.

Application entry for all of the postponed ones says: setiathome_v8.8.00 (cuda)
The AMD ones, which are working, say: seitathome_v8.8.20 (opencl_ati5_sah)
My running CPU tasks say: setiathome_v8.8.00.

Searched the forums and didn't see anything about postponed tasks.

Anyone have any suggestions?

EDIT: I just realized I could click 'properties' after selecting a task.
It looks like even though this says (cuda32) the properties lists the executable as 'MB8_win_x86_SSE3_OpenCL_NV_Sog_r3557.exe'

So I guess that might explain it, if it is trying to run these as OpenCL and the latest NVidia driver doesn't seem to come with OpenCL...
very confused...

Thanks!

You downloaded the nvidia driver from the nvidia website and not Windows correct???

If not, then you need to download directly from Nvidia website, do a clean install and restart your system.

Edit..

Option 2 is to download a prior driver that is known to work and install that one

If the driver is OK, all you may need to do is run the "repair" option of your BOINC download and see if that solves the problem.

I installed the driver through the Geforce Experience app.

I've been poking around, and I am not sure why I thought that NVidia stopped including OpenCl.
However, I cannot find an openCL dll and nothing is listed for openCL under the Geforce Driver info page, which does show Cuda, Physx, etc.

So looks like I need to download the driver again and try reinstalling.

Will post back later.

Thanks!

Download straight from NVidia's website for 417.01. Did a clean install, restarted BOINC and Seti tasks are processing again.

I did find an NVidia OpenCL.dll file in c:\window\SysWow64 that was installed 17 minutes ago, after the last install.

So strange - thanks for the help!

I wonder does the GeForce Experience app default to a Windows download instead of one direct from Nvidia? Just about any Microsoft Nvidia download from the past year has been missing the OpenCL component.

I installed the driver through the Geforce Experience app.
Now there is your problem, do not install the Geforce Experience part of the driver as it will bite you. ;-)

Cheers.
