Ready to enter on a power save model. The WU cache is almost empty. Time to enjoy the sunny day outside. |

I did notice the well was dry this morning. I guess the silver lining to not having a robust crunching machine is that I still have some WUs to process? Seti@home classic: 1,456 results, 1.613 years CPU time |

Strange... Naw, the world doesn't end. It just kicks it off axis a bit. LOL. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

Still getting no tasks available. A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association). |

I'm beginning to think we missed a great Seti/Berkeley Christmas party last night :-0 |

I'm beginning to think we missed a great Seti/Berkeley Christmas party last night :-0No, that's next week. meet with SETI researchers at the Berkeley SETI Research Center holiday party on Friday, December 14 at 6pm in Campbell Hall on the UC Berkeley campus. That reminds me - I was supposed to let them know I wasn't going. |

They should shut down the project over Christmas, and New Year, so they could celebrate the holiday in peace. It's always up to them if they wish to work on things on their time off. And the fact is, they are very dedicated and oftentimes do so. If they do not, I would certainly not call them on the carpet about it. Meow. +1 I'm always glad when the fix things off hours, but wouldn't complain if they didn't. I'm also glad so many people crunch and care about this project for any reason!! we need more people to care and crunch as it has been said we will get another data stream!!! |

+1 They usually iron things out pretty quickly when they get a meow from the kitties :-) Right now, with GPU cache rapidly shrinking, the kitties here are sending positive whisker-vibes. Humans may rule the world...but bacteria run it... |

out in the field has fallen below 4 million. This is way longer than our usual weekly outage, so expect a LONG recovery time. Thanks to Eric for working on the issues. I hope he can "jiggle the handle" and get things going again. percussive maintenance may be needed though. :-) |

I'm beginning to think we missed a great Seti/Berkeley Christmas party last night :-0 . . That's what happened. The splitters decided to crash the office party ... Stephen :) |

Seems we have crashed the Milkyway database. |

I hope something happens soon as I'm down to 13 CPU tasks (approx. 10 hrs.), have already kicked in the Milkyway GPU tasks to pick up the slack. I don't buy computers, I build them!! |

As well as the dead Splitters, I noticed that "Results received in last hour" & "Result turnaround time" haven't updated in 13hours., around the same time the splitters (and the Validators) gave up. Another symptom of the problem? Grant Darwin NT |

Work is flowing again, so stop whining :-) At only 1/3 of the demand I would describe it as trickle, not a flow. And it didn't last very long; back down to zero again. Grant Darwin NT |

Work is flowing again, so stop whining :-) . . Apart from your ridiculously simplistic view of the problem ( I got SOME work so the problem must be over) I am perplexed as to just what motivates you. You seem to resent the fact that others are seriously committed to doing as much processing for the project as they are able. Whether it is a HyperCruncher like Keith or a committed participant like Stargate, doing your best for the cause is the most anyone can ask, so why do you find this so objectionable? No one in the field can, nor for the most part even tries to, dictate to the SETI staff about what they can do or should be doing. Since the end of the food chain crunchers are the first ones (usually) to notice when there is trouble with the system, why does it annoy you if they put their hand up and say "hey there seems to be a problem here"? It doesn't seem to annoy the people responsible for running the show and keeping things working. . . But keep crunching for Beta, hopefully the first of the Parkes work will soon ba available to make Beta a purposeful function again. Stephen . . ? |

results out in the field is now below 3.5 million. WOW! Guess it wasn't a quick fix. Place your bets. How low will it go by Monday?? I wish I could see the hourly return number. |
