At least yours are downloading.
The few downloads I've managed to get, go straight to project backoff in just a few seconds.
After multiple retries, some of them start to download, at 5kB/s or less. Most still go in to project backoff, a very few manage to download at 50kB/s or so (way less than usual download speeds).

Uploads appear to be going through now, although it is taking 10s to a minute or so for them to actually start transferring.

edit- and here we are struggling to get & return work, and what do I mostly get? Shorties.

Downloads were nice and fast before if you could get them. Now they are crawling here.

+1
Atm, ULs are fine, but all DLs are stalled.

Edit : Seti-magic at work...soon as I mentioned stalled DLs, they moved again :-)

Some people somewhere must be getting work- Ready-to-send buffer is almost empty. Maybe the splitters will get going then (other than a little spurt of partial life they displayed earlier)?

My downloads have cleared as well. Back to "project has no tasks available" messages again.

Well I helped a mate out today swapping rear body on his Nissan Patrol cab/chassis (or is that still Datsun to some here?) and by the time I came back everything is back to normal. ;-)

Cheers.

Not sure when Nissan dropped the Datsun brand here in the US, but I want to think it was late '80's, if not earlier.
I know in the 70's and 80's the Datsun brand had developed a pretty bad quality rep here.

Eric and Jeff have both been in touch with me to confirm that yesterday's upload problems were indeed related to the Campus IST network failure - campus had a failed router, and Bruno came back to life when campus replaced the router shortly after 02:00 UTC this morning.

Jeff even sent me a little graph showing the TCP packet drops going from 80 per (... interval not stated) right down to zero - and staying there ever since.

They're still scratching their heads as to why only Bruno was affected that way, but they're happy it's over now.

. . Thanks for passing that on. It helps knowing what is happening ...

. . And Chris, it may be but I suspect it is mapped differently in the campus routing tables.

Thanks for the update.

uploads going through for me now. but i do have to kick start the work fetch cycle.

every time this issue with the uploads happens, my linux systems stop trying to communicate with the project. the normal 5min communication deferred timer just goes away completely (as opposed to just getting pushed back to longer intervals like what happens with normal project maintenance).

the windows systems seem to pick back up eventually

Website is very slow. Uploads going through fine. Just nothing coming back from the servers on every request. "Project has no work available"

Out of gpu work already and soon cpu tasks too. On to backup projects again this week.

Big spikes in all the Haveland graphs. Think some script just delivered an enema to the servers and started work going out again. Got full caches mostly again.

. . Hmmm ... the Blc21 tapes are nearly finished, we are back to splitting Blc34 tapes, Since it is now Friday it may be a good idea to load some more tapes before the weekend. But we may get through with what is there ... maybe?

Work loading is another automated process AFAIK and loading happen automatically once a certain threshold has been reached (just like splitting), but I can't help myself from having a giggle when some of you people mention this. ;-)

Cheers.

. . I know they automated the process for Arecibo tapes, but I am not sure that is correct for GBT tapes. But we'll see :)

Must be that time of day again.
Forums & web site sluggish, "Project has no tasks available" is all that's on offer for work requests.
