Other than the lack of uploads, it certainly seems to be the usual post outage recovery- sluggish forums, plenty of work available but "Project has no tasks available" is the (eventual) response to Scheduler requests. Grant Darwin NT |

Well the outage is over, but the slow uploads continue. . . For me it is not slow uploads, it is no uploads. With manual intervention and jiggery pokery I cannot cajole successful uploads of more than about 1 in 10 tasks. No uploads, no reporting. No reporting, no downloads = NO work. Shutting down :( Stephen :( |

I can't get as far as "no tasks" all I get is "too many uploads in progress" as 90% of upload attempts fail. . . Shutting down all empty machines, No work = NO point. :( Stephen :( |

Other than the lack of uploads, it certainly seems to be the usual post outage recovery- sluggish forums, plenty of work available but "Project has no tasks available" is the (eventual) response to Scheduler requests. It took a ridiculous amount of "Retry pending transfers" and disabling & then re-enabling network access to get mine to eventually go through. And there is always 1 in a batch that takes 10-20 times as many retries as the others before it will eventually go through. Not to mention one that gets to 100% progress, but then times out before the acknowledgement & has to start all over again... Grant Darwin NT |

Well I'm now down to CPU work only until I can get all these uploads to clear. :-( Cheers. |

Well I'm now down to CPU work only until I can get all these uploads to clear. :-( Don't worry. Even after you've cleared all the uploads, you still won't be able to get any new work- there's plenty there but still none is going out. Grant Darwin NT |

Still can't UL, have more than 3K WU to report. Can't DL anything until they will UL.

Make sure you set NNT before you attempt to report. Asking for work at the same time as reporting is guaranteed to fail with lots of tasks to report. And also keep your max reported tasks to under a 100. I am down to about 800 tasks left to report out of my 4900. I use 100 for max to report. Not need to set to NNT since i have too many UL not completed it not ask for new work Tue 05 Feb 2019 07:10:55 PM EST | SETI@home | Sending scheduler request: Requested by user. Tue 05 Feb 2019 07:10:55 PM EST | SETI@home | Reporting 100 completed tasks Tue 05 Feb 2019 07:10:55 PM EST | SETI@home | Not requesting tasks: too many uploads in progress ................................................................ Tue 05 Feb 2019 07:11:32 PM EST | SETI@home | Scheduler request completed My problem is not reporting the work is to UL the crunched WU to the servers, it simply takes more than 1:30 min to UL each crunched WU (if not ends on a retry) and since the host produces about 4x than this the list just grow bigger and bigger. BTW With such big list of UL to complete the host not report any work after each 5 min of interval too. Seems like the timer is stopped or not running.

I get dozens of that last type, the progress zips along to 100% then just hangs, times out and goes back to zero% :( . . I hope they fix it soon before I go into withdrawal :) Stephen :) |

I stopped trying, so no panic here :-) . . 2 out of three (your title) . . I have shut down 3 of the 4 rigs as they have no work, so no point. When there are signs of life I will fire them back up. In the meantime I am nursing and cajoling the remaining one to keep it going as a barometer to know when things are back to 'normal'. :) Stephen <shrug> |

As difficult as it is to upload work, it's even more difficult to get new work once the uploads have cleared & been reported. "Project has no tasks available" is the standard reply. Grant Darwin NT |

Got a batch of 135 WUs all of a sudden, so hopefully the drought is over for now. ULs are still sketchy, though. Humans may rule the world...but bacteria run it... |

Got a batch of 135 WUs all of a sudden, so hopefully the drought is over for now. I think I've managed to pick up a dozen and a bit since the outage, and it's over an hour since the last few made their appearance. The outages might be shorter, but the recoveries are considerably longer. End result, being without work for about the same period of time as when we had the extended weekly outages- at least back then work started flowing as soon as the system came back up. Now it's several hours before it even starts to trickle. Grant Darwin NT |
