So I have been a SETI participant ever since I first learned about the awesome way anyone could help participate in furthering our study of the cosmos. Almost two years ago I began purchasing the parts which would become this system, partly to have a good way to play games worry free but mainly to start racking up some real points on here, before this my main cruncher was a 2013 Macbook Pro which as you can imagine doesn't produce a whole lot of results. Recently I have overcome my fear of moving towards more advanced particpation through optimized apps, overclocking, and whatever else I come across which could help improve my contribution.
Within the past week I installed Lunatics in hopes of at least somewhat decreasing my time per task. However aside from being able to set my GPU to run two tasks it seems to have done nothing to my task completion times and may have actually even slowed down my result creation time. I've never posted here in the forums although I have lurked since first joining the project. In the past I have rejected the option of asking for help because I am afraid these questions have easily accessible answers or should be very simple, but I have been unable to find anything detailed or specific on how to maximize output through optimization.
Please help educate me on how I can maximize my results. I am willing to do nearly anything other than replacing my OS with Linux. However if a Linux system is more efficient please explaing why and how to achieve those results as well as I will be building another SETI focused rig in the near future.

Thank you in advance, any help and knowledge will be greatly appreciated and put to good use.

To start with, you're using a very outdated GPU app. looks like you're using the CUDA32 app from lunatics.

1. you can greatly increase your production by switching to the SoG app. The installer doesnt pick the best apps by default with Nvidia cards.

2. you can further increase your production by adding some command line options with the SoG app.

3. and if you make the leap to Linux and using the very latest special application, you can increase your production over a SoG optimized setup by another 2-3x.

start with #1, the latest lunatics installer is v0.45 beta 6. re-run the lunatics installer, and on the nvidia app selection page, select the SoG app. that will do a LOT already. once that's done, report back and we can help with some command line options to run on your 1050ti.

for comparison. right now your 1050ti GPU is completing tasks in ~2500 seconds. my 1050ti on linux with the special app is doing comparable tasks in 185-190 seconds. about 13x faster. if you stay on windows with SoG you can probably get them down to about 600-700 seconds or so.

Wow, that definitely helped! Thank you, I am ready for my next lesson.

see my edit about speed comparisons.

did you make the change to the SoG app yet? If so, let's wait a little while to see some submitted tasks and how they are doing before moving on to command line options.

some other questions.
do you run this system 24/7?
do you use hibernate or sleep functions?
how much impact to computer use can you handle? some of us dont really use the computers for anything other than seti, so we dont care if it causes things like screen lag.

Yes I reinstalled and selected the SoG version under the Nvidia portion of the install.
The system does run 24/7, usually its just streaming TV through the xfinity website and crunching in the background. During things I want to see entirely I'll suspend activity but usually we just put up with any lag. I don't use either of those functions. The computer can be used to its absolute limits to crunch so as long as I retain the ability to suspend it when I need to use it for other purposes.
