Yes, I have an out dated AMD APU and for some reason it stopped being recognized by Boinc. I've been running it for many years with no problems until I tried to add an additional compatible internal graphics card. For some reason this combination didn't work and after removing it, the opencl did not work anymore. The log file gives me this error numerous times. App version needs OpenCL but GPU doesn't support it I'm hoping that someone has a clue as to what is wrong. I have Windows 7 Ultimate and the latest Boinc. Also I have the newest version of Catalyst for this APU. Thanks..... Allen Edit: I just found this file and it might be of some help. It is the stderr.txt file. 20:40:57 (6388): Can't open init data file - running in standalone mode 20:40:57 (6388): Can't open init data file - running in standalone mode Not using mb_cmdline.txt-file, using commandline options. You lost your OpenCL driver. Should reinstall the OpenCL driver which I understand is not part of the normal AMD driver package. The missing init_data.xml file is the task parameter that is copied into the task slot. Confused from the initial addition of the secondary card and then removal. The init_data file now has the wrong information in it for the original card. If you delete the current slots and then restart BOINC after reinstalling the OpenCL driver, it should sort itself out again. You'll need older drivers for that package. The newest drivers don't have legacy support for older hardware, as in they lack the OpenCL compatibility. Instead download Catalyst 15.7.1, uninstall any drivers you have now, then after a reboot, install the drivers I linked to. That should fix things. If you want Crimson drivers, the last available with OpenCL support for your HD 6xx0 is the beta 16.2.1. |

Thank you gentlemen, very much. Indeed I did loose my driver's. After loading the correct driver catalyst, I loaded the version 14.4 catalyst, rebooted and all was good. Yes I did remove the old drivers and deleted the files in the slots directory first. Great information as always from the fine people at the Seti crunching crew messages board. Thanks a million!
