At one time he was using a third party manager and not connecting directly. WCG I think Mike Bader BOINC V7.16.5 http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/team_join_form.php?id=5 - Join Our International Team [img]http://boinc.mundayweb.com/one/stats.php? |

He had a prior account now deleted when the problem started. But that account worked fine in my computer and my location. Then 10598086, now 10767467 Mike Bader BOINC V7.16.5 http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/team_join_form.php?id=5 - Join Our International Team [img]http://boinc.mundayweb.com/one/stats.php? |

What he can try is these: - In computing preferences, set Skip data verification for image files to On. If using the local preferences, set this there (BOINC Manager->View>Advanced view->Options->Computing preferences->Network). - In cc_config.xml, set <http_1_0> to on. <cc_config> <log_flags> </log_flags> <options> <http_1_0>1</http_1_0> </options> </cc_config> If he's using local preferences, there's already a cc_config.xml in his data directory. Else he'll have to make one (with Notepad) and save it in ANSI encoding. Then exit & restart BOINC. For the first option, some ISPs recompress graphics to save on data. With the option checked, BOINC will stumble and have weird connections. For the second option, some ISPs still use HTTP 1.0 connections, instead of HTTP 1.1; tell BOINC to drop back to using that connection type. |

Hi Ageless, I don't know if you received a message I typed in the forums or not. So I'll do it again. I did change my cc_config.xml file to what you suggested. And I left it at that, only. I also made a change in my computing preferences to set Skip data verification for image files to On. I made the changes yesterday, closed out all that was open, including BOINC, and rebooted. Unfortunately no luck. SETI still doesn't connect to the web server(s), it is still deferring to a later time, 24 hrs at a time. Thanks Jord, George George |
