I've been unable to upload my finished results for over 2 days I finally gave up and removed Seti@Home from my projects and uninstalled Boinc from my computer. I reinstalled Boinc and attached again to Seti@home. I'm still unable to download any new tasks. I'm getting "9/12/2018 12:18:01 AM | SETI@home | [error] No start tag in scheduler reply" which is the same error I was getting trying to upload results. My Boinc version is 7.12.1 (x64) HELP!!!!! After you uninstalled boinc did you go and find the boinc folder in the Program data folder and delete it as well?? If not, then you left the original there and BOINC reconnect to the old folders. |

I get "No start tag in scheduler reply" when my internet connection is trying to tell me something: in my case, most commonly when the ISP connection is down because the combined modem/router is going through a reboot cycle. BOINC sends a message to the project server, and expects to get a reply from that server in a prescribed form. If the line is down, the message will never reach the server, and any reply received is likely to be from some intermediate device along the way trying to be 'helpful'. So, the first thing to do is to try to reach the project (these message boards) using a web browser on the machine with the problem. If there's an error message to be seen, you'll see it that way. If you're using an unusual type of internet connection (like the satellite service mentioned in the linked thread), and a browser connects successfully, then using the <http_1_0> setting described there is certainly worth a try. |

Can it be to do with Anti Virus software? Maybe pause it while booting up? |

If I recall correctly, BitDefender was a bad one for screwing with BOINCs DNS mapping and would cause problems similar to described. |

I've heard that some people need to disable it? |

Is it difficult to do what Richard asked? Try the internet connection from the computer with the problem? Because although your network may be connected to the same modem/router, they're not all connected via the same Ethernet cable, via the same Network Interface Card. You're asking for help, but once given just wave it aside as if that can't be it. Help will dry up quite quickly if you continue to react this way. |

I am having the same issue. It happened when I updated to 7.12.1 (x64) on Sept 10th on both of my computers and now neither of them work. |
