Maybe I'm being politically incorrect but I think it is shameful that no one has mentioned the passing of John McCain, at least not in a dedicated thread. Right or wrong, I voted for him and still think he would have been a good solid president. All I ask here is what your mom used to say "If you don't have anything good to say don't waste the space (don't say anything at all)". R.I.P. There is a dedicated thread in the Cafe, where the R.I.P. threads usually end up. However for actual political commentary on him, it's probably good to have a thread here as well... so far (happily) that has been avoided in the Cafe thread. |

I didn't search deeply enough in the cafe. If the moderators want to kill this thread I am OK with it. Bob DeWoody My motto: Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow as it may not be required. This no longer applies in light of current events. |

I didn't search deeply enough in the cafe. If the moderators want to kill this thread I am OK with it. Up to the mods, the one I started in the Cafe was to pay respects to a fellow human being. There is a poster here in politics who, before he passed, used some rather colorful language describing his funeral plans. This would be the thread for him to comment in, if he still holds those views. Sen. McCain believed and lived his oath, "that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic;" |
