Using a AMD AMD TURKS firepro v4900 video card with the driver that Fedora28 gave it during install (& of course I've done dnf update since). I have Seti running in Bionic and it's using all my CPU cores but it doesn't appear to be using my GPU. I was just curious how I could make that happen. (I looked to see if I could find a list of supported cards and didn't see it.) Does my card support it? If so, how can I enable it? (If I need to change drivers, any advice on how, where to look etc, is appreciated. In the past I've always just went w/ whatever the install gives) |

It looks like I can't install the latest driver from AMD (fglrx-15.201.2401. ) When I do, I get "error: Detected X Server version 'XServer 1.19.6_64a' is not supported. Supported versions are X.Org 6.9 or later, up to XServer 1.10 (default:v2:x86_64:lib:XServer 1.19.6_64a:none:4.17.12-200.fc28.x86_64:) Installation will not proceed." So I'm guessing the answer is "nope" |

According to your computer the GPU is detected by BOINC. Whether or not it's being used, is a setting in your preferences. Check that Use ATI GPU is checked in the project preferences (for the correct location). Else post the messages from Event Log around a request for work. |
