Huh? I haven't heard anything about any "anomalies" at Einstein. I've been getting work from them since 2011 without interruption. They are my primary backup project along with GPUGrid.net. I have one host working on MilkyWay@home too because I put the 7.8.3 version on it. MW needs a BOINC client greater than 7.6.31 and my other BOINC 7.4.44 hosts don't cut it.

Hmmmm..... I thought I saw something about that, and then the tasks dried up. I am clearly missing something (the tasks maybe ;)

The only current problem I am aware of is that the new Turing cards are incompatible with the app on some tasks with a particular parameter set. So anyone with Turing I would say to wait it out till the developers can figure out why the architecture of Turing doesn't work on some datasets.

. . Yes that is always a big problem .... they would have to run the splitters with the schedulers/download servers offline to let it build up a good load in the hopper than limit the downloads per host for a while. Load smoothing is always a delicate thing ...

Me thinks it is self serving, Eric and the crew have a lot of data they want crunched and they will go out of their way to facilitate that goal.
Crunch on and stop bitching about their dedication.

They have billions of tasks already crunched since 1999, never analyzed for potential ET signals. Our crunching here, is just the first step. The crunched tasks needs to be analyzed too.
So they do not need to be in a hurry crunching more. So perhaps stop bitching for more tasks, as soon as it seems to get a bit dry around here?
Looking at how stuff works now, it will take 20 years before what we crunch now gets analyzed.

. . Hopefully not but you may be right. Either way we will not be around to see any 2 way communication, but for posterity it is still worth it.

I just want to be a part of it. My machine doesn't do much, and what it does is very slow, so I will probably never run out of work (except that one time I think one Christmas or New Year when they didn't hand out WUs for a very long time). I just want to chat about Seti with like minded people. Well at least like minded in that we think Seti is worth our time and energy.

I'm very grateful that the Seti team continues to take time out of their off time to load up data files or fix a computer, as while it is mainly about the data, it is also about the community that develops around it.

. . Yep, uncommon people with a common cause ...

Yeah, well............I did send the diminishing queue word out to Eric and Jeff this afternoon before I left to attend to other things.
Looks like one or the other got the message and reloaded things.
I do try to keep comms from me to a minimum, so that they mean something when I do send them.
Or, maybe I had nothing to do with it and they just picked up on it themselves.
Neither Eric or Jeff has ever raised any quibble about attending to things on a weekend.
If they had a problem with it, they would just ignore the message.

. . That is my take on it. They get to determine priorities and no one (with any sense) will fault them for their decisions. And the project continues.

I think I have unscrewed up whatever it was I had screwed up. So if/when I run out of Seti tasks I should get a bunch of gpu and CPU tasks so my bored computer won't be twiddling its CPU cycles/gpu cycles waiting for some more Seti tasks :)

Einstein is my back up project for both here and GPUGrid. They were having issues with the CPU applications but that seems to have been resolved for now (think they removed those particulator work units.) As far as GPU applications, the Turing cards seem to like only 1 of the 2 different types that are crunched. No one can quite figure out why yet, thou Vyper hinted that it might have to do with the parameters that the Einstein scientist placed on the applications (testing is ongoing). All projects go through growing pains when new things are added or modified. I just let things run. If it's a problem on my end, I try to fit it. If it's on their end, then there's nothing I can do but move on to a 3rd back up project is I can't find work available.

I finally got new work on all machines, BUT as usual, the Splitters haven't kicked in to keep up with demand. Unless someone kicks them, they won't ramp up until the RTS is at Zero.
The RTS will be Zero fairly soon with the Splitters running at 5/sec....

Yes, this seems to be the 'new normal" for outage Tuesday's. Whatever script controls the splitters doesn't detect a drop in the RTS till it hits zero.

I see there's a problem with the MB Validators again. After a slight glitch, looks like they gave up all together & the backlog continues to grow, and as a result so too the Assimilator backlog.

And now the Assimilator backlog is sky rocketing, and the splitters have stopped splitting all together. A couple of the AP stats have flatlined, and the MB Ready-to-send buffer is draining rapidly- it will be out of work in under 2hrs at the present rate.
