Yes, likely that is the reason. I'm sure I wasn't alone in needing to snag a 1000 tasks to make my caches full again. Seti@Home classic workunits:20,676 CPU time:74,226 hours A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |

That, plus I noticed that during our little problem the result creation rate dropped to near enough zero. |

Looks like we are having same glitch as yesterday in getting tasks. Website sluggish, creation rate nil and all hosts with falling caches unable to report work and ask for more. Or if contacted get the no work is available message. Seti@Home classic workunits:20,676 CPU time:74,226 hours A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |

Or if contacted get the no work is available message. very similar time stamp as yesterday (about 15:50 UTC). Though it doesn't look like today's problem was as bad. I'm wondering if enough people are timing their internet connections to seti to large result sends and large data grabs instead of a constant send and receive of small amounts. Could also be a seti cron job slowing things down and it is just more noticeable because of the increased load of WOW. |

I doubt if enough people would go the trouble of hoarding results to report. I think people just let BOINC run as intended. I put more weight on a cron job happening at that time that is more noticeable with the increased return rates during the contest. Or if contacted get the no work is available message. It's a recurring event, noticeable in the In progress weekly graphs. It's been going on for a few weeks (maybe over a month) now, although the resolution of the monthly graphs, and the short period of time it occurs for make it impossible to see in those graphs. EDIT- around the same time the splitters stop & the Scheduler stops handing out work, the Master database queries per second has been taking a dive. Grant Darwin NT |

I put more weight on a cron job happening at that time that is more noticeable with the increased return rates during the contest. Results returned per hour are presently less than they were before the WoW event started. The current lack of Arecibo work and the currently present longer GBT runtimes have brought that about. Pendings are going up and valid is dropping. Mine are still around their usual levels (which are somewhat higher than they used to be several months back). Grant Darwin NT |

That's my consensus too. If I I look at the trend line for hourly output over on the contest, it has been sloping downward for the last day not counting this mornings glitch and the next hour spike recovering the lost output. I'm seeing the issue too. It shouldn't have run out of work to send so quickly as the RTS queue was full at 600K. The splitting has stopped...which it should do if the RTS queue is full... Master database queries/second 415 The queries are way down. Connection issues?? |

Painful to try and use the boards during this time though. Get used to spinning wheels. Seti@Home classic workunits:20,676 CPU time:74,226 hours A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |

They were all out of normal hamsters, they had to get Unionized ones, and it was their coffee break. |

I have added two new Android phones to my Seti processing. But neither of them seem to be getting any tasks. Is there any way to tell if the servers aren't serving android or do I need to ask elsewhere? Thank you, Tom A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association). |

You might find the http://wuprop.boinc-af.org/results/delai.py database of compatible phones/tablets useful. My non-PIE phone and tablet crunch S@h work units without problems (my new PIE phone is crunching WCG WUs since it rejects S@h WUs =:/ I have added two new Android phones to my Seti processing.
