England's freemasons are modernising for the times

England’s Freemasons are to admit women to their secretive society - but only if they were previously male masons.

“a Freemason who after initiation ceases to be a man does not cease to be a Freemason.”

A woman who becomes a man will also be allowed to apply to become a Freemason, the policy said.

To avoid taking the Korea thread off-topic, I hope no one minds if I respond to this here:

*There is an old saying regarding Churchill, with much truth:

If Churchill was PM in 1940, Britain would have lost the war. If he wasn't PM in 1942, Britain would have won the war sooner.

Remember that Churchill was Britain's First Lord of the Admiralty in WW 1. The disastrous Dardanelles Campaign was all his idea.
That's not the only disastrous hand he meted out either.

Not his finest hour.

I strongly suspect our Rumpettes who celebrate Churchill do it not in spite of his racism, but do so because of his racism.

I'd say a good one. Definitely :)

Publicise it well so that if it is really that important for someone to moulder away or burn with all their bits where they last left them - on their insides and not someone else's - then letting it be known they don't wish to be an organ donor will or should be important enough to them to actually do.

On another matter... UK bookstore attacked by 'mask-wearing fascists'

Looks like party loyalty isn't as cut and dried as some might assume. In Missouri voters were asked to vote on Proposition A, a Republican proposed ballot which if passed would have prevented unions from collecting dues from nonmembers who are covered under union contracts. In 2016 they voted bigly for Trump.

The International Army Games 2018 "Seaborne Assault," hosted by the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy, came to a successful close Saturday.

Russia placed second while Venezuela and Iran shared third. Team China won the top three prizes in the obstacle and survival trail events and the top two prizes in the relay race.
I think China won the culinary prize in the kitchen cook-off as well:)

I haven't forgotten about my capitalism/socialism promise - I just haven't quite kept it... yet. It needs a level of focus my brain isn't quite sustaining at present. Just so everybody knows... ;)

Just here re an assertion made on the seti science board (in the "Would the Governments of the World Try to Suppress News of a SETI Discovery?" thread) because what I would have liked to have said, had no place there, so I left it to stand as it was.

I'll leave off any commentary of my own though, and just stick to posting a link, for those who are interested.

No my question is correct. We have the same problems here. How many bearded/long haired teachers are there & these people set dress & hair policies.
