The heat is finally on again in the brewroom as both a beer brew and spirit wash are being prepared for some yeast reaction.

Cheers.

The aromas coming out of my brewroom this morning were wonderful and now the kits have been sealed after their night of out gassing.

Cheers.

Well I'm just about ready to turn the heat on again in the brewroom, but I'll enjoy a coffee break 1st.

Cheers.

I'm just waiting for my solar panels to come up to speed before spending the rest of the day in the brewroom on the old electric still.

I should've done this a few days ago, but that icy gale that's been blowing through here of late has had me a bit too locked up to do it until today (it's just a gentle breeze now).

Anyhow I'll get another coffee in before then.

Cheers.

That's both my brewing kits scrubbed out and ready for more action (well at least the beer 1 is as I have everything needed for that) while Robbie the Robot went mad downstairs this morning quickly getting the temp down there up from 5C to 27C in no time so by the time that I finish this coffee break the charcoal should be finished activating and I can filter yesterday's effort while watering it down.

Cheers.

Finally the last 4L of spirit is in the charcoal filter and the 1 imp. gal. carboy will take the rest so that I can go to bed at anytime now.

Cheers.

I wound up getting 18.25L of 40% spirit from the 50L wash by the time I finished up watering it all down this morning, now I just have to get another beer brew going (though that will have to wait for a day or 2 as yet).

Cheers.

Now that the yard and I has been civilised once again I reckon that it's time for 3 or 4 beers as it was hot and dusty work out there as the temp reaches 23C (feels like 20C) here.

Cheers.

I got my brewroom ready for another season of brewing this morning as tomorrow morning will be perfect to put the heat on to kick it off.

Anyhow after splitting some kindling (also for tomorrow morning) I'm ready for a beer or 3.

Cheers.

Seeing as it didn't get as cold as expected this morning I'll hold off putting a beer brew down today and instead I'll head of over to the supermarket a bit later and get 16kg of white sugar so that I can put both a beer brew and a spirit wash down at the same time tomorrow morning.

Cheers.

My 2 kits are now sterilising away and the heat will be on in the brewroom in 30mins.

Now I just have to recover from the sodium metabisulphite fumes.

Cheers.

Is it true, the longer the brew the higher the ABV?

No it's not Gary as the ABV depends on the amount of sugars involved. ;-)

That's another stack of full bottles of beer done and another batch started today.

Monday looks to be a good day to process that spirit wash that's just about done.

Cheers.

It may have been delayed by a few days, but the brewroom is ready to process that spirit wash in the morning and I also made up some bourbon as well as some black sambuca while I was in there.

Cheers.

I forgot about the cricket match that's on tonight so that wash may have to wait 1 more day yet.

Well I did have plans for today, but yet again things pop up that ruin them and I just found out what that is for today.

It's World Toilet Day. :-(

Oh well there are other things to do here that won't mind the interruptions.

Cheers.

Finally the heat is on in the brewroom, on this damp and dreary day, as the 1st batch of 10L of spirit wash is in the still.

Cheers.
