All of us here love a pint (or more) of decent ale, but brewing that ale produces CO2 which is not exactly the best gas to produce. A brewery near Sidney has come up with a possible solution:

It's a great idea for commercial breweries, but I'm not sure if it could be used on a part time micro home setup like mine.

Cheers.

I had a 210km drive through a few clouds today, the lazy buggers just couldn't stay off the ground across the ridges and they blocked my view of the wind turbines down wind turbine alley (I was lucky to see a few of their stumps of them though), but I've now got the ingredients to replenish my spirits again and it's the best time of year to get into it while the river water (aka: town water) is so cold. ;-)

Now I just have to get the sugar required for 2 double dose washes from across the road, over the weekend here I think after the drizzle has left and before what I hope is the last cold snap here for this winter (we've had more than enough of them here this winter).

Cheers.

That is some dedication for the brew materials!!!

And I thought it was a slog to wander into town for some flour for mi bread making...!

Enjoy!

Way to long to drive to get your fix. Me? Just have to walk to the other side of the apartment complex cross one street and a
Liquor store is there. Pizza? Three in a three block distance past the liquor store.

I use to be able to get my spirit supplies in town until the store in there closed down, but at least the beer brewing supplies can be had from across the road.

Cheers.

The heat is back on in my brewroom again as another 16kgs of sugar gets dissolved to get another spirit wash going.

The first 8kgs is about done so I'd better get back in there. ;-)

Cheers.

The heat is on again in my brewroom on this frosty morning with a beer brew to get going first followed by processing that spirit wash.

With only 11C being expected here today, along with a cold wind, I should remain toasty warm.

Cheers.

Well there's another dose of yeast going to work in a productive way and I've just got the brewroom switched over into distillery mode, but I'm going to have a short break before kicking that off as beer o'clock will likely start here at the same time part 2 of 4 gets going.

Cheers.

Another lager brew has got bottled here today and the milk beer crate stacks have all been rotated and just 5 empty to spare. I'll have to plan on doing another ginger beer in the next couple of weeks.

This Sunday coming looks to be another crap day so another spirit wash might be in order for then for a bit of added heat.

Cheers.

Well I'm just waiting for the sterlisation process to finish on another 1 of my kits before I turn the heat on in the brewroom to get another 16kg of sugar dissolved to get another spirit wash started in around 30mins time.

That'll turn things tropical like upstairs for a bit while it cool and wet outside.

[edit] Well that's warming things up now as the 1st batch of toffee gets underway. :-)

Cheers.

After getting the brewroom up to a humid 30C, while it's a wet 12C (feels like 10C) outside, another brew is now gassing out.

Cheers.

Well that brew is ready to process tomorrow, but seeing as rain is now expected for an extended period and after surveying the yard just then it looks like I'll be running the mower over the yard again in the morning. :-(

Tuesday would be a perfect day as it'll be cold and wet and the extra heat could be used, but I've got a jab appointment over at Inverell that day. So it looks like that'll be a Monday job, though the charcoal filtering and watering down may have to wait until Wednesday, but I'll see how I go (and if the old back holds out).

Now I think that I'll try another 1 of them beers that I bottled 8 months ago.

Cheers.

Thor must be smiling on me this morning as I got the town water connection to the brewroom linked into the garden tap outside without getting wet (1 day I'll put a permanent connection in) as it was suppose to be raining sheep and cows here, but we're just starting to get the 1st sprinkles coming in instead.

Anyhow my 1st pour is about to begin so I better get back in there.

Cheers.

Seeing as I have a nice cool morning here I'm about to turn the heat up in the brewroom to get another couple of brews going before people start turning up. ;-)

The heat is back on in the brewroom as I get ready to sterilise 6 dozen 750ml bottles for beer bottling.

Cheers.

I'm back into my brewroom this morning getting another beer brew started (before the cricket starts) and tomorrow (or the day after) I'll get into processing that spirit wash that I got started with the last beer brew. I still need another 6 empty bottles for this beer brew, but I'm sure that I'll have them before that brew is ready to bottle.

Cheers.

The way England aren't playing just now will the cricket last long enough for you to get the brew going, never mind bottled?
