Bragging rights: Suddenly, it's dawning on me that since last april I have been crunching (albeit intermittently) SETI@home data for 19 years. And comrades, I suspect I'm not the only one in that cohort.

I went in at first for the screen saver and the dream of finding an ETI. I keep crunching data (in my humble way) for the science and the dream of finding that elusive but so heavily significant extraterrestrial technosignature.

Thanks to all those who have made this possible.

Addendum: too soon, I'll want one of those 20 Year t-shirt lol (I hear the 15th anniversary tee was way cool!)

Congratulations! That is quite a milestone. I will be joining you in a few days. I wonder how many of us from the early days are still plugging away. ( I still think that the original screen saver was the neatest.) :-)

I will be joining the club in 9 days :)

In fact it would have been before that. I created a Seti account in April 99, but somehow registered with a nonexistant mail adress.

And back then I couldn't find a way to change it (I don't hink it was possible). So I created a new account, which I'm using to this date.

Next year will be an aniversary. I wonder if the peoble behind the project will do something to celebrate it?

Wow me too - same registration day! Nice to meet you. :-)
I'm putting myself to the fullest possible use, which is all, I think, that any conscious entity can ever hope to do.

It's been quite the fun ride too. It's been a real treat to me to be able to contribute to this world-wide communal effort.

Looks like it is time for my annual anniversary message. 19 years today and I am still just as interested in this project as I was on the first day. My congratulations and thanks to the SETI@Home staff and volunteers.

OK, I'm officially starting on my twentieth year; the nineteenth is in the books. Not much of a contribution, numbers-wise, but I keep plugging away. I'm hoping to manage one million by my twentieth anniversary :-) but only time will tell.

Looks like I am keeping with a theme here. A day late and a dollar short..lol

Hard to believe it has been 19 years since I first tried to catch an alien signal. Gone through a BUNCH of computers, software and checking on the forums to see what is happening. I have taken a break here and there but always drawn back to this community. Seti@home has some of the most knowledgeable and friendly people you couple find in a forum community. Sure there is the odd tussle but just enough to add to the entertainment.

Here is hoping we make some real progress in the next few years and create our own = real WOW event =

Thanx for the ride all, everyone here helps in some way.
Bob

Out of 2260 of those who join Seti Classic on the 20th of May 1999, only 317 processed some WU's in the last month...

I believe they giving away free toasters to twenty some things next year..... :)
