Only went to look because I noticed without any more effort on my part I am in the 1% Gold group.

They did a month ago and provided results. But I don't think they are currently running any Corona virus campaigns.

I am running Rosetta and currently have a bunch of WUs with Covid-19 in name.....

It will be interesting to see tomorrow how many tasks get re-sent as I believe there are quite a few expected to expire I believe these are ones that had a quorum of 1. The one thing I hope is it will help remove some bloat from the database

I am such a newbie a Quake Catcher that I cannot post. So HERE's my question: The work units there are ridiculously long running - I estimate my first one to finish in 20 days.
By that time , it will be a few days overdue. Will I get credit for running this marathon late? Thanks in advance!

If this is your first WU for Quake Catcher, then don't worry about the estimate. Until you have validated a few tasks, BOINC can't figure out what your APR for that project is to give you accurate estimates on your estimated completion time.

This always catches out newbies with the very inaccurate estimation times for the first work units the host is crunching.

If you are going to miss the deadline I would suggest aborting the task. By the looks of things your slowest host returned one to task everyone 1.1 days. In saying that this is based off of old information as the replica database is 75.78 hours/3.16 days at 0600:05 UTC

As Keith says, if you are only just starting out on a project the estimates of run-time are way off, more often than not far too long.
Let the task run and watch its progress and you will probably be able to do a better estimate yourself by looking at the duration and the percentage done.

The estimates will only correct themselves as and when tasks are completed and returned. Try to avoid aborting tasks as much as you can. When starting a new project, it's best to set a low cache level ('Store at least --- days of work') until you've got a feeling for how it runs.

Is anyone with a RTX 2070 running more than 1 non-BLC & non-vlar at a time?

Just remembered that there is a photo album of the day that SETI Classic was switched off. I hope somebody will think of doing the same on Hibernation Day - if you happen to have contacts with the staff anyway, please (gently) suggest it to them?

Here it is: SETI@home Classic Shuts Down - December 15, 2005

The photographs are captioned, but unfortunately in white on pale grey in this colour scheme - do a 'select all' to read them in white on highlight.

Nice Pic.

It's highly unlikely something a celebration like that could be done due the lockdown.
But a picture of the remote server stop screen to remember the event is almost welcome.

Greetings,

My main is out of tasks and it doesn't look like it will get any, any time soon, if ever. ;)

My other 6 have between 1.5 and 2 days left.

Gettin' near the end... :(

Have a great day! :)

I was having hiccups on the gpus on one rig so I switched it to cpu only yesterday.

And the cpu tasks are full up. Switched back to "both" and it promptly came up dry.

So maybe they are discriminating against gpus "at the end" :)

Hi Tom,

Yeah, but I have neither CPU nor GPU tasks. I'm not really worried about getting any more tasks since there's only 4 days left anyway. :)

Have a great day! :)
