I had a thought this morning when reading about the latest tales of woe with the CPU issues that are again occurring, and was wondering if the Itanium line of procs that Intel tried to make the default 64 bit CPU (and no royalties to AMD, which in the end obviously didn't work out how they'd have liked as I believe it has killed off), might have avoided these issues due to their lack of compatibility with the AMD-64 proc and all it's related legacy issue that have recently been discovered. Anyone have any inside baseball information on this, I'm kind of curious. |
