Amazing, how fast those investigations were dealt with, while more serious crimes end up on the back burner. |

Amazing, how fast those investigations were dealt with, while more serious crimes end up on the back burner. Put the crime in writing and digitally sign you name to it, does make it pretty easy for the cops. |

True but only to a degree. Famous or in the public eye, yep we'll investigate. Bottom of the ladder, thanks for informing us, we'll get back to you. |

All new coppers from 2020 to have degrees Now that report is nearly 5 years old but I've posted it due to 2 statements in it. But retired police officer Norman Brennan, who served 31 years in London and now campaigns for police protection, said degrees came "at the bottom of the priority list" for police. Chief Constable Giles York, the National Police Chiefs Council lead for workforce, said the scheme would "improve our ability to attract and retain really good people"Now the reason why I searched my BBC report bookmarks. 3 year old seriously injured by an e-scooter in a public park I am asking this person to please come forward and speak to us because we do need to understand what happened."Pretty obvious how it happened, the law was broken/ignored leading to a serious collision. A degree won't show one's common sense or how good one is. |

If they have a degree that might mean they can be taught/trained. Those that can't, there job should be: "Do you want chips with that?" |

If they have a degree that might mean they can be taught/trained.Ah but would they be good people for the community or just good for their superiors? |

Now here's something to think about. Both the police and the public will benefit from ending qualified immunity. One Saturday night, I was standing on a police line protecting the St. John's Church in Washington, D.C., about two months after the George Floyd rallies began. I tried engaging in a conversation with a young man who was sitting on the jersey walls. He looked at me and asked: "What is it going to take for y'all to stop protecting bad apples? If I were to kill someone, I would be held accountable, no questions asked. Why do officers get all these chances? I don't know if our community will ever be able to trust you all." He got up and walked away before I could respond. But if I had a chance to respond, I would have told him honestly that I know we aren't held as accountable as we should be, and I know we won't have the trust of our communities until we are. And that, in large part, the reason we're not held as accountable is because of qualified immunity. We don't have that nonsense here. |

Senior officer calls it - Will he succeed? Or will he end up "cancelled"? |

Warning given - and rightly so However... "If you are reporting a non-emergency matter our advice is always - if it's not 999 then go online for advice, and the ability to 'live chat' with our staff."1: So why the need for "101"? 2: While on "live chat" uunable to deal with "real" emergencies. ...sheesh. |
