Ex-Houston officer accused of assault in bogus fraud claim
HOUSTON (AP) — A former Houston police captain was charged with assault on Tuesday after running a man off the road and holding him at gunpoint in an effort to prove what authorities have called a bogus voter fraud scheme.

Mark Aguirre claimed that an air conditioner repairman was the mastermind of a giant voter fraud scheme. Aguirre said the man’s truck was filled with fraudulent ballots when he ran his SUV into it on Oct. 19, according to authorities.
...
Police who responded to the incident searched the truck and found only air conditioning parts and tools, authorities said. Authorities did not name the truckdriver, who was not hurt.
“A lengthy investigation ... determined allegations of election fraud were unfounded and no evidence of illegal ballots was found,” Houston police said.
Aguirre told a police officer at the scene, “I just hope you’re a patriot,” according to the affidavit.

Policing - behind the scenes

WTF?
Since when has "spirit of the law" overridden Rule of Law?
No wonder one can't see a copper on the beat...
...they're all hiding & waiting for unsuspecting cashcows.

Then again... Certain groups have been 'gaming' the rules to play and frolic to crowd out various beauty spots...

And we still have a pandemic until everyone gets serious about staying safe.

Stay safe folks!

Maybe so, however...
Human rights barrister Adam Wagner said: "There is no law against travelling to exercise. The guidance is not legally binding and the police have no power to enforce it unless it is reflected in the lockdown regulations which in this case it is not."
Then we get this...
During the first lockdown, the force was criticised for releasing drone footage of people walking in the Peak District.
Speaking at the time, Lord Sumption - a former Supreme Court judge - said it was "disgraceful" and "shamed our policing traditions".
Are we ending up like the US where police enforce the laws?
So our officers if unsure on the laws they're supposed to know, have radios do they not?
Derbyshire Police said: "It is up to each individual officer on a case-by-case basis to decide what is reasonable as the legislation does not proscribe a distance."
This will end up being dismissed by judges as the rule of law overrides "spirit of the law".
Unlike the States, our coppers are there to uphold the law NOT enforce it, however I'm beginning to wonder...

Kent Police confirmed they were called to the incident took place on December 10 following a report of a disturbance.
They said officers attended and after speaking to the involved parties no offences were identified.
Really?
Hmm...
...illegally detaining, false accusation, assault...
...for starters.
It seems the judgement of many twits in blue these days, needs a good shakeout....
...then again, that might rattle the few cells in their heads.

Error or deliberate?
IMV: If arrested then released without charge, cleared in an investigation or cleared in a court of law, no records should be retained.

anti-Biden rioters left Pike Place Market’s original Starbucks coffee shop with its windows smashed.
On January 20th, the events at a variety of locations had no meaning. There was no discussion about what they were fighting for, or what type of social justice message. That cannot happen.
rioters seeming more focused on "lighting fires" and "breaking windows."

"anti-Biden rioters more focused on 'lighting fires' and 'breaking windows.'" Yep, one party is focused on destruction.

No, the message I am giving you is that I don't agree with the left wing supposition that anybody who does not agree with their agenda is in the wrong.
And that is not necessarily so.
And your supposition that is is so displays some real arrogance on your part.

"We're the police, we're not just someone, you idiot," the officer says.

A deadly pandemic sweeping the world & instead of policing we get CIB's out in force.

More evidence that the idiots in Westminster are out of touch with reality.
How daft is this?
The idiots should read the comment section. I bet the police do & feel real chuffed at what they read.
