Can't say it better than this for policing in the USA:

Why police training in the US falls short compared to the rest of the world.

Another one to add to the pile:

California cops shoot dead double amputee, 36, as he tries to run away from them on his stumps: Police department says officers feared he was going to 'throw his knife at them'

Poorly trained/equipped officers who don't know any way of dealing with a person having a mental health crisis with a knife other than shooting them, as usual. He was "running" away... on stumps.

Good on them.

Australian Federal Police dismantle alleged international criminal syndicate based in Sydney.

And apparently all done without a shot being fired and the only casualties were doors. ;-)

Fort Worth fire truck stolen, crashed into street sign
Fort Worth police are looking for the thief who stole a Fort Worth fire truck late Wednesday night.

Reports say firefighters were called to a medical emergency at a motel on the south side of town. After they finished up, they came out and their truck was gone.

Officials say it was later found on the I-35W service road near Seminary Drive. The thieves had crashed it into a street sign at that intersection.

The suspects were long gone by the time the truck was found.

A deadly reality in the USA:

Why do so many police traffic stops turn deadly?
wrote:
... dozens of drivers ... have died in recent years after being pulled over by police. Why do traffic stops become violent and what can be done about it?...

... By training police how to de-escalate interactions with drivers and eliminating incentives to pull them over, some departments are reporting success in reducing the number of "flashpoints" of heightened tensions that can lead to violence.

So what do the numbers tell us?...

All a very deadly effect of the NRA and of misplaced incentives?...

Only in the USA?

Sovereign citizens?
They're just the pathetic losers of this world.

We do have a few of them on rough bush blocks around here, but thankfully they've got the message that their stupid false B.S. isn't tolerated in the village.

Yes most of us here are "WOKE" and proud of it.

Otherwise you're just in another China or Russia.

[edit] Yes we did run into 1 of them today at the pub which killed 1 beer on us.

They must have watched a few episodes of THE DUKES OF HAZZARD before trying this..
The video captures the teen crashing into a barrier and then flying over an overpass, landing on the opposite side of the highway, police said.
Investigators said both are accused of human smuggling after a migrant in the country illegally was found in the vehicle.

His time inside will be quite an "adventure". Proper criminals have an inbuilt hatred of sex criminals and ex-police, and having both in one body will ensure they make his life far from pleasant. Meaning he will be monitored 24/7 (well, maybe, as prison officers have much the same views as the proper criminals), and probably spend a fair bit of time in solitary "for his own protection" (prison officers don't like too much blood on the floor & walls).

Deputy Charged with Showing Girl Pornography wrote:
A former Orange County sheriff’s deputy who has been charged with showing pornography to an underage girl is scheduled to be arraigned on March 7, according to court records.

Former Deputy Justin Ramirez was charged Thursday with distributing or exhibiting pornography to a minor, according to court records. Ramirez, who was a school resource officer at the time of the alleged incident, resigned his position, a sheriff’s spokesman, who did not know when the deputy quit, said.

The alleged victim’s attorney, Michael Guisti, said he intends to file a claim with the county but was waiting until charges were filed.

According to Guisti, the victim was called over with other girls to a group of boys who were gathered around Ramirez’s car near Trabuco Hills High School in Mission Viejo. The deputy allegedly showed them what “was described as two people humping,” Guisti said.

“This pervert is targeting minors and showing them pornography that is both sexual and violent in nature,” the victim’s mother said in a statement released by Guisti.

According to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, Ramirez was accused of displaying the video to two teen girls during the lunch hour. The video showed a woman being stabbed to death and a video exhibiting “graphic drug use,” prosecutors alleged.

Ramirez was a defendant in a federal wrongful death lawsuit stemming from the in-custody death of Chong Tok “Richard” Rha in La Mirada in August 2019. Orange County supervisors in October 2021 voted to approve a $1.5 million settlement with the man’s family.
