This one was making the rounds yesterday...

In summary, an NYPD officer on vacation in Nashville got so drunk he returned "home" to the wrong house, one next door to his AirBNB rental. When he found the door locked, he kicked it open and entered, threatened the family, and called them a rather horrid N-word... other than "Nashville" or "New York". 😀

And now I will balance it out with something positive that happened here last week:

Toronto police mounted a dramatic elevator rescue on Tuesday night while the city was being drenched by a heavy rainfall that caused flash flooding, street closures and several cars to be trapped in flooded underpasses.

Two men had to be rescued from an elevator that was stuck in the basement of a commercial building in the city’s north end.

Police spokeswoman Katrina Arrogante said water had almost filled the elevator before the men were rescued by officers who had to swim down to the basement to get them out.

“The water level has rose to six feet and there was only one foot of air space left for the two males to breathe,” she said, adding that the men were able to keep their heads above water by standing on handrails inside the elevator.

“The two officers answering the call then found a crowbar and swam into the basement location of the commercial building, pried open the elevator and rescued the two males that were stuck inside,” Arrogante told The Canadian Press.

They stated they were just doing their jobs, but of course it was was beyond their job description; they could have claimed it was too dangerous and waited for better-equipped responders. Huge kudos to them for not doing that.

Balance, then this:
https://abc7.com/ex-lapd-officer-pleads-no-contest-to-sexually-abusing-former-cadet/3964763/
A former Los Angeles Police Department officer accused of sexually abusing a 15-year-old female police cadet pleaded no contest Wednesday and was sentenced to two years in state prison.

Robert Cain agreed to a plea deal on two felony charges in exchange for a two year sentence. The victim, who is now 16 years old, filed a lawsuit alleging sexual harassment, emotional distress and civil rights violations against the ex-LAPD officer.

Cain resigned last year after being arrested by then LAPD Chief Charlie Beck after an investigation into Cain's involvement in the theft of police cruisers and other equipment by juveniles in the department's cadet program. The investigation revealed allegations of sex abuse.

The girl Cain is accused of abusing was one of the seven cadets arrested for allegedly stealing LAPD cruisers.

The victim was 15 years old when Cain engaged in an unlawful sexual relationship with her.

After watching that video, just one sentence by a child says it all: "Who's picking me up from school today?"

I'm still wondering why the police in the US have to use so much violence to enforce the law.
And so many officers to handle a single suspect.
In Sweden and also Russia(!) it's very different.

moomin….Our Society and criminals are very violent. Fighting the police has become very prevalent in our Society. Unless we want to return the old days.
So your "feeble" excuse for this is?
On July 17, 2014, Eric Garner died in Staten Island, New York City, after a New York City Police Department (NYPD) officer put him in a headlock for about 15 to 19 seconds while arresting him. NYPD policy prohibits the use of chokeholds. The officer denied choking Garner despite being on video doing so, but the New York City Medical Examiner's Office report stated "Cause of Death: Compression of neck, compression of chest and prone positioning during physical restraint by police".

Another personal and malicious attack disguised as a question.

How can you condone what happened to Eric Garner? Clearly your moral compass is missing.

Understand the physical power of those on certain drugs, emotional problems, etc. and their being unresponsive to pain. The least force used on a subject on drugs or mental conditions, emotional and physical state. May involve four officers to hold down and secure. One for each hand/arm. One to secure the legs and one to secure the subject from biting and/or spitting.
I don't buy that. There are many similary situations here (yes we have violent people here as well) but it doesn't go so far as in the US.
Four officers to handle a drunk person? Give me a break.
If so in Sweden we have to employ at least twice of much of police officers.
In Russia three times of police officers:)

I suppose it's better than being shot

An 87-year-old woman who doesn't speak English was Tased by police after she failed to drop a kitchen knife she was using to cut dandelion leaves, according to authorities.

A staff member from a Boys & Girls Club called 911 earlier this week, saying there was an elderly woman trespassing on the facility's property, carrying a knife and cutting vegetation, according to the Chatsworth Police Department.

Chief Josh Etheridge and two officers responded. Etheridge and another cop pointed their weapons at the woman when she failed to comply with their shouts of "Put the knife down! Put the knife down!" according the chief. Al-Bishara continued walking toward the officers.

Etheridge told the Daily Citizen in a videotaped statement that he tried to mime putting the knife down when he realized the woman didn't seem to understand. When she didn't respond, another officer fired his Taser, hitting her in the breast and the stomach.
[...]
She was taken to jail, where she was charged with criminal trespassing and interfering with a police officer, her great-nephew said.
[...]
Etheridge defended his and his officers' actions.

“There was no anger, there was no malice in this,” he told the newspaper. “In my opinion, it was the lowest use of force we could have used at the time. And I know everyone is going to say, ‘An 87-year-old woman? How big a threat can she be?’ She still had a knife. ... An 87-year-old woman with a knife still has the ability to hurt an officer.”
Not as much as three armed police officers surely?

Or could she have mistaken them for dandelions?

An officer not getting a scratch on the job is worth more than thousands of murdered innocent civilians, just listen to the police unions and protective leagues.

Usually US police officers says "Put the knife down, Sir". Oh Martha is an elderly woman...

It it the terror of being on the right wing and oppressing people and knowing you are doing it by demanding your privilege. You expect them to come for you at some point because you know you deserve it.

Just these posters inner need to falsely and maliciously attack.
Well, lets look to you...
! You believe in the U S Constitution.
2:You believe that all humans are granted rights from birth.

To be frank, can't see anything wrong with those beliefs regardless on right or wrong.

Where were those points for Eric Garner?
Your society is very violent?

So in effect, what you're saying is that New York's finest are entitled to murder unarmed "very violent" citizens & lie about it?
10 cops to arrest an "unarmed" citizen because he didn't have tax stamps to sell "single" cigarettes?

Just what is the tax on a "single" cigarette?

https://www.newsweek.com/former-ice-special-agent-who-abused-position-accused-sex-assault-rape-1079567
A former special agent at the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) was arrested earlier this week, accused of sexual assault and rape against multiple women.

According to the agency, 43-year-old John Jacobs Olivas was arrested Wednesday morning by agents from the FBI and ICE’s Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR). He is alleged to have abused his position to convince victims to not report his violent actions, which reportedly included the assault of one women and two rapes against another, a release said.

Olivas was arraigned in United States District Court in Riverside. He entered a not guilty plea and was ordered released on a $50,000 bond. The suspect will stand trial on Oct. 9.

According to ICE, an indictment alleges Olivas attempted to rape one victim in January 2012 after making it clear to her “that the police would not be responsive to any report she may make about defendant Olivas because of defendant Olivas’ position as a federal law enforcement officer.”

https://apnews.com/927f29dbe78c46ef8743f07ee14405d9/Texas-deputy-accused-of-child-rape-dies-in-apparent-suicide
A Texas sheriff’s deputy who was jailed on charges alleging that he sexually assaulted a 4-year-old girl and threatened her mother with deportation has died from an apparent suicide.

The Bexar (bayr) County sheriff’s office says 47-year-old Jose Nunez died Monday at the jail in nearby Karnes County. It says he appears to have killed himself, but it didn’t say how or where in the jail he did it.

Nunez was a 10-year veteran of the Bexar County sheriff’s office assigned to that county’s jail when he was arrested in June on a charge of super aggravated sexual assault of a child.

Authorities said at the time that the assaults may have been going on for months or even years and that Nunez threatened the mother, who is from Guatemala, with deportation if she reported him.
