A continuation of I hope that this cop gets to feel the full force of the law. #4 As per the OP there: "If anyone wishes to continue the "Good cop, Bad cop" discussion. Open your own thread." As the last thread was closed due to offtopic back-and-forth sniping I guess I have to set the OP as I did with the Donald Trump thread. The topic of this thread is Police and Law Enforcement, including both the bad (police corruption, crimes committed by police officers, systemic ethnic/racial bias in police forces, etc.) and good (heroic and above-and-beyond actions by police officers and police departments, etc.) Offtopic material such as back and forth criticism of other forum members or their posting style rather than sticking to the topic will be removed at moderator discretion. As always, if you think a post doesn't belong here, the correct course of action is to hit the red "X" and let us know why. Thank you. |

A boost for DNA & family trees :-) That's an interesting way to search, send the suspect DNA to the genealogy sites and ask for family matches. Don't even have to tell the genealogy site you are the cops when you send the sample and the fee. |

Agree but not long after seeing that on the BBC website, I saw another which I posted the link in the computer thread. Like everything else, it could be open to abuse :-( |

Another day this time 2 cops That LA Times article references 5 officers from the LAPD busted in 5 days, that is a rate of one a day. Extrapolating, 365 cops a day from a department of 9000 officers is 4.055555555555556% of the officers busted a year. That is a "hot bed" Deal with the realities of today. |

Is "shoot to kill" next a policy which could be thought of as valid? Or perhaps not policy above, but rather a statutory right, when it sometimes happens. |

The US law enforcement are breaking Swedish laws on Swedish soil! American Drug Enforcement Administration DEA agent sought to recruit pregnant toddler mother in Sweden as an informant https://www.svt.se/nyheter/inrikes/amerikansk-agent-forsokte-rekrytera-informator-i-sverige The DEA acted on Swedish soil, without permission, during the major Operation Playa. A DEA agent, together with a Swedish police, tried to recruit a pregnant toddler mother as an informant. Her task would be to be a spider in the network in a supposed drug gang and secretly give the police information about this - an extremely dangerous mission. The American agent, named Timothy Moran, was engaged early in the major investigation Operation Playa, an investigation spanning several continents. He offered her 5,000 Euro in return for her acting as an informant, an offer she was not at all interested in. "Being an informer is the most dangerous task you can have. It is completely fatal. The person who is revealed as a teller does not survive often, says Nils Erik Schultz, former state prosecutor who worked with cases where people were used by the police in this way. The fact that a foreign police acts in this way on Swedish soil is completely illegal. It acknowledges the criminal commissioner who was in charge of the Operation Playa. |

75 years ago, military and police riot (might be a painful read for a white supremacist) https://www.pasadenastarnews.com/2018/06/01/75-years-ago-zoot-suit-riots-marked-a-dark-period-in-southern-california-history/ And 75 years ago this weekend, on June 3, 1943, the zoot suit became forever tied to one of the darkest periods in the region’s history when U.S. military men took the streets of Los Angeles attacking young Mexican-American men, targeting those adorned in the attire. |
